CHRIST’S DISCIPLE ALWAYS TELLS THE TRUTH

Leviticus 19

You must not steal nor deceive nor lie to each other. 

Leviticus 19:11 (CEB)

            All people have a strong desire to be accepted, loved, spoken well of, and to keep a positive image before others. Often that carries them into dishonesty, the lack of transparency and authenticity.  Other times, people lie in order to escape the consequences of the errors they have committed.  Our inclination to trick others goes back to the essence of humanity.

            Honesty is a fundamental quality for the solidification of our character.  God gives much value to all that we tell God.  For this we should learn to recognize our faults and admit our mistakes to separate ourselves from all lies. 

            God hates lies, because God is the Truth.  Satan, to the contrary, is the father of lies.  The Christian has to say the truth; and not only this, should say the truth with love.  You can not truly be happy in your relationships, whether it be within the family, the couple, the place of work, or socially, if there is a distrust between the members.  When we insist on saying the truth, we are being disciples of Jesus.

 

Prayer: Lord, allow us to always keep clearly in mind the things that you ask us not to do.  Do not allow us to fall into temptation.  Amen.

EL DISCIPULO DE CRISTO SIEMPRE DICE LA VERDAD

Levítico 19

No roben.  No mientan. No se engañen unos a otros.

Levítico 19:11

            El fuerte deseo que tienen todas las personas de ser aceptadas, queridas, elogiadas; y de mantener una imagen positiva antes los otros, muchas veces las lleva a la deshonestidad, a la falta de transparencia y autenticidad. Otras veces, las personas mienten para intentar escapar de las consecuencias de los errores que cometieron. Nuestra inclinación para engañar a los otros se remonta a la esencia del hombre.

            La honestidad es una cualidad fundamental para la solidificación de nuestro carácter. Dios da mucho valor a todo lo que decimos. Por ello debemos aprender a reconocer nuestras faltas y a admitir nuestros errores para alejarnos de toda mentira.

            Dios odia la mentira, porque Él es la Verdad. Satanás, al contrario, es el padre de la mentira. El cristiano tiene que decir la verdad; y no solo eso, debe decir la verdad con amor. No se puede ser verdaderamente feliz cuando en nuestras relaciones, ya sean de familia, de pareja, de trabajo, o sociales, existe desconfianza entre sus miembros. Cuando insistimos en decir la verdad estamos siendo discípulos de Jesús.

 

Oración: Señor, permítenos mantener siempre en claro las cosas que tú nos pides no debemos hacer. No nos dejes caer en tentación. Amén.

 

JANUARY 30, SATURDAY

THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU

Exodus 14

The Lord will fight for you.  You just keep still.

Exodus 14:14 (CEB)

            After centuries of a life of slavery, deprivation and horrors in Egypt, the people of Israel were finally freed, following their leader, Moses, on a course to the land promised by God.  But until they arrived there, they had a long walk to go through many difficulties and faced many enemies. Soon after they had left Egypt, they found the immensity of the sea keeping them from continuing on their journey, and behind them Pharoah’s armies were threatening to capture them.  Again the fear and anxiety that had previously dominated their hearts returned to give them nightmares.  Then Moses told the people not to be afraid. 

            On our path toward eternal life, there is also a long journey to go.  As it happened to the people of Israel, surely we will have to face difficulties, tests and temptations.  If we allow fear to dominate us, we will be doubting that God can intervene in our favor in whatever circumstance to fulfill God’s plan in our life and to meet our needs.  The Word of God is heaped with promises that direct us to strengthen our energy and take away the doubts about the fact that the Lord never will leave us alone on this journey.  Familiarize yourself with the Word of God, be empowered by the promises that are for all those who believe in God.  Don’t be afraid!  The Lord will fight for you!

 

Prayer: Thank you, beloved Lord, for the many examples of love and mercy that you pour into my life.  Through Jesus, Amen.

EL SEÑOR LUCHARÁ POR USTED

Éxodo 14

Jehová peleará por vosotros, y vosotros estaréis tranquilos

Éxodo 14:14

            Luego de siglos de una vida de esclavitud, de privaciones y horrores en Egipto, finalmente el pueblo de Israel estaba libre siguiendo a su líder, Moisés, rumbo  a la tierra prometida por  Dios. Pero hasta llegar allá había un largo camino por recorrer, muchas dificultades y muchos enemigos por enfrentar. Poco tiempo después de haber dejado Egipto, se encontraron con la inmensidad del mar impidiéndoles continuar su jornada; y por detrás estaban amenazados por el ejército del Faraón que se aproximaba para capturarlos. Nuevamente el miedo y la ansiedad que antes dominaban su corazón, volvieron a apesadumbrarlos. Entonces Moisés insta al pueblo a no temer.

            En nuestra caminata hacia la vida eterna, también hay un largo camino por recorrer. Como le ocurrió al pueblo de Israel, seguramente tendremos que enfrentar dificultades, pruebas y tentaciones. Si nos dejamos dominar por el miedo, estaremos dudando de que Dios pueda intervenir a nuestro favor en cualquier circunstancia para cumplir su plan en nuestra vida y cubrir nuestras necesidades. La Palabra de Dios está colmada de promesas que se dirigen a fortalecer nuestro ánimo y quitan las dudas sobre el hecho de que el Señor nunca nos dejará solos en esta jornada. Familiarícese con la Palabra de Dios, apodérese de las promesas que hace a todos los que creen en Él. ¡No tenga miedo! ¡El Señor luchará por usted!

 

Oración: Gracias amado Señor, por las muchas muestras de amor y misericordia que derramas en mi  vida. Por Jesús, Amén.

 

 

 

JANUARY 29, FRIDAY

TAKE CARE OF YOUR MIND

Genesis 19:1-29

…and said, “My brothers, don’t do such an evil thing.”

Genesis 19:7 (CEB)

            The episode related in Genesis 19 shows us clearly how God rejects sexual alteration.  God created men and women to form one body, and those who live outside of this are not in God’s plans.  When the two angels sent by the Lord stayed in Lot’s house, various men intended to invade the house to violate the two visitors.  Fortunately, God intervened lest such a sin and insult were committed. 

            In our day it is very common to hear it said that the important thing is to be happy, or that all one does with love is valid.  Don’t be tricked.  Flee from your temptations.  Be very careful not to fall into their traps.  The real world presents different traps of evil so that we find ourselves easily led into trickery and sin.  Because of this, have standards with respect to what you hear, see and do.  Look in the Word for the counsel and orientation for your life.  Maintain your mind connected to the things of God and depend on God to live a pure life.  The Lord wants to bless it.

 

Prayer: Separate our minds Lord, from the traps. Separate our lives from evil hands.  Amen.

CUIDE SU MENTE

Génesis 19:1-29

...y dijo: Os ruego, hermanos míos, que no hagáis tal maldad.

Génesis 19:7

            El episodio relatado en Génesis 19 nos muestra claramente cómo Dios reprueba la alteración sexual. Él creó al hombre y a la mujer para que formasen un solo cuerpo, y lo que va más allá de esto no está  en sus planes.

            Cuando los dos ángeles enviados por el Señor se hospedaron en la casa de Lot, varios hombres intentaron invadirla para violentar a los dos visitantes. Afortunadamente Dios impidió que tal pecado y ultraje fueran cometidos.

            En nuestros días es muy común que se escuche decir que lo importante es ser feliz, o que todo lo que se hace con amor es válido. No se deje engañar. Huya de las tentaciones. Tenga mucho cuidado en no caer en sus trampas. El mundo actual presenta diferentes trampas del maligno que nos conducen fácilmente al engaño y al pecado. Por ello tenga criterio con lo que se escucha, ve y hace. Busque en la Palabra el consejo y la orientación para su vida. Mantenga su mente conectada a las cosas de Dios y dependa de Él para vivir una vida pura. El Señor desea bendecirlo.

 

Oración: Aparta nuestra mente Señor, de las trampas. Aparta nuestras vidas de las manos del mal. Amén.

 

 

JANUARY 28, THURSDAY

DON’T FEAR

Psalm 23

Don’t fear, because I am with you; don’t be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will surely help you; I will hold you with my righteous strong hand.

Isaiah 41:10 (CEB)

            Why not fear?  The whole world is afraid.  Everything that comes on the news is bad.  The news makes it so that one doesn’t want to leave home.

            The Bible says that the hearts of men faint from fear.  I am human, and it seems that there are many good reasons to be afraid. 

             The word “fear” is written in the Bible 365 times.  It is as if God were reminding us every day to live without fear.  I declare that no evil can threaten me because God is with me. God strengthens me and also lifts me up when I feel like I can not keep standing on my own. 

            Fear and faith have something in common:  both are based on something that we can not see.  Thus I have decided to believe in God.  I will believe in God more than I believe in things that scare me. 

            Miracles happen when I put more energy into what God tells me than into my fears. 

 

Prayer: Lord, you did not create me to have fear.  I can not have fear if I have you at my side.  When I feel that I have no strength, you give me your power.  Amen.

NO TEMAS

Salmo 23

No temas porque yo estoy contigo; no desmayes porque yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia

Isaías 41:10

            ¿Por qué no temer? Todo el mundo tiene miedo. Todo lo que sale en las noticias es malo. Las noticias hacen que uno no quiera salir de casa.

            La Biblia dice que los corazones de los hombres desfallecen debido al temor. Yo soy humano, y parece que hay muy buenas razones para tener temor.

            La palabra “temor” está escrita en la Biblia 365 veces. Es como si Dios nos estuviera recordando cada día que viva sin temor. Declaro que ningún mal puede amenazarme porque Dios  está conmigo. Él me fortalece e incluso me levanta cuando siento que no puedo mantenerme en pie por mí mismo.

            El temor y la fe tienen algo en común: ambos se basan en algo que no podemos ver. Por lo tanto, decido creer en Dios. Creeré en Dios más  de lo que creo en las cosas que me asustan.

            Suceden milagros cuando pongo más energía en lo que Dios me dice que en mis temores.

 

Oración: Señor, tú no me creaste para tener temor. No puedo tener temor si te tengo a mi lado. Cuando siento que no tengo fuerzas, tú me das tu poder. Amén.
