MY WATER SOURCE

Isaiah 12:3

the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Colossians 1:27 (NRSV)

To those who thirst, Christ freely gives living water to drink from its source. Drink it intensively so that it can live abundantly in you. Let the living water penetrate to the depths of your being, refreshing and renewing you. Since this living water is free, you can drink all you want, all you desire. Christ is the hope of glory!

My wish is that you might have a great thirst for God. Thirst is a very powerful desire; water sustains life much more than food.  Pure water is much healthier than canned beverages full of sugars and chemical products. In the same way, drinking that water is first of all determinative of your spiritual health. Although other things can satisfy you for a while, they are not going to assuage the thirst of your soul.

Be glad that what you most need is free. Draw water from the fountains of salvation with joy.

 

Oración: My good Jesus, be the source from which I want to drink all my days. May nothing quench my thirst for you. Amen.

LA FUENTE DE MI AGUA

Isaias 12:3

...que es Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de la gloria

Colosenses 1:27

 

Al que tenga sed, promete Cristo, le daré a beber gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida. Bébela con intensidad y así podrá vivir abundantemente en ti. Deja que el agua viva llegue hasta las profundidades de tu ser, refrescándote y renovándote. Como esta agua de Vida es gratis, puedes disponer de toda la que quieras...puedes tener tanto como desees. ¡Cristo es la esperanza de la gloria!

Mi deseo es que tengas mucha sed de Dios. La sed es un deseo muy poderoso; el agua sostiene la vida, mucho más que el alimento. El agua pura es mucho más saludable que las bebidas enlatadas llenas de azúcares y productos químicos. De igual manera, beber de esa agua antes que nada es determinante para tu salud espiritual. Aunque otras cosas pudieren satisfacerte durante un tiempo, no van a apagar la sed de tu alma.

 

Alégrate de que lo que más necesites es gratuito. Saca agua de las fuentes de la salvación con alegría.

 

Oración: Sé tú, mi buen Jesús, la fuente de la cual quiera yo beber todos los días. Que nunca se sacie mi sed de ti. Amén.

Labor Day

TO WORK

Haggai 2:1-5

...work, for I am with you, says the Lord of hosts…

Today in our country and in many parts of the world, we celebrate Labor Day, although not eveyone does it in the same manner. Many people think of work as a punishment. Others see it as a means of sustenance to make a living. Daily there are more who see it as a way to fully realize the development of their creative potential. At work the human being not only is converted into a creator of goods but also recreates and remakes himself.

When Haggai launches the appeal in God’s name, he challenges the people all to take courage and work with a promise: we will not be alone in fulfilling the task. God will be by our side.

We live in a society where there is a lot of work to be done, knowing that now I’m responsible not only for my own well-being, but also that of those around me. It is beautiful to watch not only how in the midst of the destruction of tornados, fires, and hurricanes, which leave such devastation and desperation in their paths, the help in solidarity from people outside, far away is made evident, but also how they gather their forces to help in raising and restoring what was destroyed. So gather your strength and get to work.

 

Prayer: Lord, give me the strength to accomplish today’s work and a new vision to accomplish it with joy. Amen.

Día del Trabajo

A TRABAJAR

Hageo 2:1-5

...dice Jehová, y trabajad, porque yo estoy con vosotros…

Hageo 2:4

 

Hoy celebramos en nuestro país y en muchas partes del mundo el Día del Trabajo, aunque no todos lo hacemos de la misma manera. Muchas personas ven el trabajo como un castigo. Otros como un medio de sustento para ganarse la vida. Cada día son más los que lo ven como una forma de realizarse más plenamente y de desarrollar sus potencialidades creadoras. Al trabajar, el ser humano no sólo se convierte en un creador de bienes, sino que él mismo se recrea, se rehace.

 

Al lanzar Hageo el llamamiento en nombre de Dios, reta al pueblo todo a cobrar ánimo y a trabajar con una promesa: no estaremos solos en el cumplimiento de la tarea. Él estará a nuestro lado.

 

Vivimos en una sociedad donde hay mucho trabajo que realizar, sabiendo que ahora no sólo cuido mi sustento, sino también el de los demás. Es hermoso ver, en medio de afectaciones por tornados, incendios, huracanes, que dejan a su paso tanta devastación y desesperación, cómo se hace evidente la ayuda solidaria en tiempo y recursos, de personas ajenas, lejanas, pero que suman sus fuerzas en ayudar a levantar y restaurar lo que estaba destrozado.  Cobra pues, ánimo a trabajar.

 

Oración: Señor, dame fuerzas para realizar el trabajo de hoy y una nueva visión para realizarlo con gozo. Amén.
