IN TRUST IS OUR STRENGTH

Psalm 37

Be still before the Lord, and wait for him.

Psalm 37:7a (CEB)

Have you prayed constantly and waited for a long time without seeing signs?  Are you tired of waiting?  Are you at the point of abandoning it all?

Maybe you have not waited as you should. This has led you outside of the true place where God can find you.  Wait with patience.  (Romans 8:25) Patience removes tiredness.  He said that he would come and his promise is equal to his presence.  Patience makes sadness disappear.  Why do you get sad and desperate?  God knows better than you what your need is, and God’s purpose in waiting is no other than to take all the glory.  Patience ends with personal works.  God only wants you to grow; then you will be able to understand that all is well.  Patience takes away all desire.  Perhaps your eagerness is greater than your desire to fulfill the will of God.

Patience unearths all weakness, and instead of letting time pass, you know that God is preparing a better provision, and you should also be prepared.  Patience makes vacillation disappear.              As Daniel 8:18 says:  Let me be at your feet.  The foundations of God are firm while we wait.  Patience is dedicated to worship, and also praise because it helps us lift up the suffering with joy.  This is the best part of patience.  Even more, all of these phrases about patience will have their perfect work while you wait, and thus you will be greatly enriched.

Prayer: Lord, endow us with trust and patience to offer to others your love and mercy.  Amen.

EN LA CONFIANZA ESTÁ NUESTRA FORTALEZA

Salmo 37

Salmo 37:7a

¿Has orado constantemente y esperado mucho tiempo sin ver señales? ¿Estás cansado de esperar? ¿Estás a punto de abandonarlo todo?

Quizás no has esperado como debías.

THE COST OF LIFE

Colossians 3:1-4

Think about the things above and not things on earth.

Colossians 3: 2 (CEB)

One of the rawest realities that we have lived through during these times is the higher cost of all goods.  The prices are high for anything that one can buy.  What is happening?  Could it be that life has become more expensive?

All of these questions assault our minds. And all this happens because our world has materialized in such a way that it has given too much importance to earthly goods.

Those who believe in Christ have to think and live differently; he or she has to first give a high value to him or herself because Christ paid a high price for our salvation.  For this reason, our gaze should not be fixed on the immediate, but must be lifted upwards toward the infinite, toward the goal of reaching an abundant and full life through the spiritual gifts that come from God.

These are the resources for which we must truly struggle, these are the ones that will last.  These resources serve us to make it through the immediate tests that try to overcome our purity and patience in the middle of the race that we have undertaken through this life that our Father has designed for each one and that God has given us with such love.

Prayer: Beloved Father, help us to discern which are our priorities in life and to never separate our feelings from your divine guidance.  Amen.

EL COSTO DE LA VIDA

Colosenses 3:1-4

PROMISE IN LIFE

Matthew 4:1-11

People won’t live only by bread, but by every word spoken by God.

Matthew 4:4 (CEB)

I am constantly postponing for a long time the needed repairs on my house. Especially in my room, where I work for six days a week, I postpone making these repairs day after day.

Many times, in the same way, we postpone being in the presence of God.  We have been comfortably transformed into Sunday Christians and we see ourselves as Christians simply because we were born into a Christian family.

To live as a Christian is to know how to integrate Christ into our daily lives.  It is to have an ongoing relationship with Christ through our whole life, through which we grow, develop, and discover constantly new facets of the true Christian life.  It is to give ourselves to God so that God will form, mold, guide and change us.  It is to invite Christ to be the Lord of our mind, body, and soul.

Prayer: Lord, teach us to have the discipline to dedicate time to be in communion with you.  Use us to carry out your purposes in our lives.  Through Jesus Christ, Amen.

COMPROMISO EN LA VIDA

Mateo 4:1-11
