JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY

TODAY, AND FOR ALL TIME

HEBREWS 13:1-8

“Fear God and keep his commandments,

for this is the duty of all mankind”

Ecclesiastes 12:13

This was the motto of our Church some years ago. Jesus Christ is always the same, incomparable truth which we cannot doubt. Across all generations Jesus Christ has been the only one able to bestow full happiness upon human beings.

We speak of science’s greatness, but nevertheless, it has not been able to satisfy our hearts; neither has wisdom in itself been sufficient. We think about grandiose nature, and it is no more than the work of a Creator. We think about art, the home, the family, and about all the marvelous things that the human being is capable of doing and that can bring us happiness, but neither can these things revitalize or transform our lives completely.

Ennobling work can do much for us, as can having mercy for others, but God cannot be disconnected from those things. As He has given us lungs to breathe pure air, He has also given us a soul to fill with Him. Society and humans have changed, but God never changes. God has manifested Himself in different ways across time. He personally made a work visible and marvelous among humanity in Jesus Christ, and still to this day continues to manifest himself with the same efficacy through the Holy Spirit.

May we end as we began: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and for all time.”

Prayer:  Thank you Lord Jesus for always being the same, for not changing. Thank you for your promises.   Amen.

HOY Y POR LOS SIGLOS

HEBREOS  13: 1-8

“Teme, pues, a Dios y cumple sus mandamientos,

porque esto es todo para el hombre.”

Este fue el lema de nuestra Iglesia hace algunos años. Jesucristo es el mismo siempre, verdad incomparable que no podemos dudar. A través de todas las generaciones Jesucristo ha sido el único capaz de dar plena felicidad al ser humano.

Hablamos de la grandeza de la ciencia, y sin embargo, ella no ha sido capaz de satisfacer nuestro corazón. La sabiduría tampoco por sí misma ha sido suficiente. Pensamos en la naturaleza grandiosa y ella no es más que la obra de un Creador. Pensamos en el arte, el hogar, la familia y en todas las cosas maravillosas que el ser humano es capaz de hacer y ello nos puede dar felicidad, pero tampoco puede vivificar, ni transformar nuestras vidas por completo. El trabajo ennoblecedor puede hacer mucho por nosotros, igualmente la piedad a favor de otros, pero Dios no puede ser desconectado de estas cosas. Como Él nos ha dado los pulmones para respirar aire puro, nos ha dado así también un alma para llenarla de Él. La sociedad y el ser humano han cambiado, pero Dios nunca cambia. Dios se ha manifestado de distintas maneras a través de los tiempos. Personalmente, en Jesucristo, hizo una labor visible y maravillosa entre la humanidad y aún en nuestros días sigue manifestándose con la misma eficacia a través del Espíritu Santo. Terminemos tal como comenzamos: “Jesucristo es el mismo ayer, hoy y por los siglos”.

Oración: Gracias Señor Jesús, por ser siempre el mismo, por no cambiar. Gracias por tus promesas. Amén.
