A CHILD’S INNOCENCE

Luke 9: 46-50

Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me

The disciples were discussing among themselves what it takes to be leaders of their group when Jesus places a child in their midst. The word child in Aramaic has the same sense as a servant: innocent, simple, humble.

That doesn’t seem to us like the values of leaders who have to be strong and capable. Our eyes look at what is seen, but God knows who has the heart of a child. They know how to discern the road to take: a life and church firm, united in material and spiritual service to others.

True leaders are shaped in the path of faith with constancy and faithfulness, surrendered to the care of their Father God, trusting and attentive to God’s will.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Father and Mother, for placing in each and every one the love and simplicity of a little child, teaching us to forgive and receive your blessings with grateful hearts. In Jesus, Amen.

LA INOCENCIA DE UN NIÑO.

Lucas 9: 46-50

Cualquiera que recibe a este niño en mi nombre a mí me recibe; y el que me recibe a mí, recibe al que me envió.

Los discipulos discutian entre ellos sus méritos para ser lidres del grupo y Jesús pone en medio de ellos a un niño. La palabra niño en arameo es la misma que se usa para siervo: inocente, sencillo, humilde.

Esto nos parece, que no son méritos de los lideres, que estos han de ser fuertes, capaces. Nuestros ojos miran lo que está a la vista, mas Dios sabe quién tiene un corazón de niño. Esos saben discernir donde está el camino a seguir. Su vida e iglesia, firmes, unidas al servicio de los demás, material y espiritualmente.

Los verdaderos lideres se forman en el camino de la fe con constancia y fidelidad, entregados al cuidado de su Padre Dios, confiados y atentos a su voluntad.

 

Oración: Gracias Padre y Madre, tú que pones en cada uno y cada una el amor y la sencillez de un niño pequeño, enséñanos a perdonar y recibir tus bendiciones con corazones agradecidos. En Jesús, Amén.
