LET’S NOT WORRY
JEREMIAH 13:15-27
And can any of you
by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?
Matthew 6:27 (NRSV)
We can’t
change some things. Perhaps the most unchangeable part of our life is the past,
which naturally we can’t change or relive.
We can’t change
what has happened to us throughout our lives. Nothing can be undone, neither
words nor deeds can be changed. You can walk away from mistakes, but even then
they won't eliminate the effects of sin. We can’t change the past, but we have
the option to accept it in a new way.
When Jesus
met the Samaritan woman at the well, he didn’t ask her to blot out her five
marriages. He simply offered her water to slake her thirst and encouraged her
to take up the challenges of her present.
We waste
our time and energy when we think about what might have been. We should simply
admit our own errors and those committed against God; we can’t do any more.
Let’s not worry but concentrate on the present which takes shape in our hands.
Prayer: Lord, help me to accept my past and to leave behind what I
cannot change. Give me strength and faith so that we may not worry and
concentrate on the present which is taking shape in our hands. Amen.

NO NOS AFANEMOS
JEREMIAS 13:15-27
¿Y quién de vosotros podrá,
por mucho que se afane,
añadir a su estatura un codo?
Mateo 6:27
no puedo cambiar.
