OMNIPOTENT GOD
PSALM 66
Say to God, “How
awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down
to you, they sing praise to you,
they sing the praises
of your name.”
Psalm 66:3-4 (NIV)
There are no enemies
for the Lord. Neither in the material realm nor the spiritual realm. Those who
rebel against Him do not know the power of his true love, which defeats all
deception and evil. His glorious flag is the cross, with which he has destroyed
the power of death and sin, paying with his own life a ransom for the elect,
the redemption of all creation. The standard bearer is none other than the lamb
that was slain. His triumphant soldiers are those who give bread to the hungry,
clothe the naked, comfort to the sick, freedom for the captives, and announce
the good news of the Kingdom to come.
Whenever a man or woman
acts in Christ’s name to redeem a neighbor, the Lord is demonstrating the power
of his Spirit. As long as there are those who hunger and thirst for justice,
although persecuted for it; as long as there are those who seek peace and live
with compassion and love the truth of a pure heart, the power of the Omnipotent
will be evident.
Let us praise the Lord!
May we never stop singing hymns in his honor!
Prayer: Lord, like the
Psalmist we say: The heavens tell of your glory. Thanks for calling us
to serve in your wonderful work. Be with us and guide us. Amen.

SALMO 66
Díganle
a Dios: Tus obras son maravillosas.
Por tu
gran poder tus enemigos caen aterrados ante ti;
todo el
mundo te adora, canta himnos a tu nombre.
Salmo
66:3
No hay enemigos
para el Señor. Ni en el mundo material ni en el espiritual. Los que se rebelan
contra Él no conocen el poder de su verdadero amor, que aniquila todo engaño y
maldad. Su estandarte glorioso es la cruz, con la que ha destruido el poder de
la muerte y el pecado, pagando con su propia vida el rescate de los escogidos,
la redención de todo lo creado. El paladín victorioso no es otro que el Cordero
que fue inmolado. Sus soldados triunfantes son los que dan el pan al
hambriento, vestido al desnudo, consuelo a los enfermos, anuncian libertad a
los cautivos y las buenas nuevas del Reino que viene.
En tanto haya un
hombre o una mujer que se despojen de sí en nombre de Cristo para redención de
un prójimo, el Señor está manifestando el
poder de su Espíritu. En tanto haya quienes tienen hambre y sed de
justicia, aunque sean perseguidos por esa causa; en tanto haya quienes procuren
la paz y quienes vivan la misericordia y aman la verdad del corazón puro, el
poder del Omnipotente será manifiesto.
¡Alabemos al
Señor! ¡No cesemos de cantar himnos en su honor!
Oración: Señor,
como el salmista repetimos: Los cielos cuentan tu gloria. Gracias por
llamarnos para servir en tu obra maravillosa, acompáñanos y guíanos. Amén.
