To listen is a good beginning

Psalm 85: 8-13

I Will listen to what God, the Lord says, he promises peace to his people.  (NIV)

Peace is personal and communal. In the Old Testament, it is a broad concept of well-being, which includes love, truth, fidelity, justice, among other values.

God has desires of peace for his creation. We long for peace intensely, but we do not listen to the voices of those around us who need reconciliation and peace. We may even silence our own voice. The first step toward the reconciliation that brings the enjoyment of peace is to listen.

We must be willing to listen to God, the gentle whisper of the divine breeze that shows up when we least expect it, and brings good advice.

The Lord gives what is good. To achieve these fruits, we have the duty to do our part, beginning by becoming aware, encouraging each other to do it in groups, with friends and family.

Let’s cheer up! Listening is a firm step toward peace.

 

Prayer: Dear God, on this day we want to identify the voices that, together with us, want peace, to listen to your voice in those people who seek it and who advise it. Give us the courage to listen. Amen.

Escuchar es un buen comienzo.

Salmo 85: 8-13

Escucharé lo  que  dirá Dios el Señor,  porque hablará paz a  su  pueblo.

Salmo 85:8

La paz es  personal  y comunitaria.  En el Antiguo  Testamento es un concepto de bienestar amplio, que  incluye el amor, la verdad, fidelidad, la justicia entre  otros valores.

Dios  tiene para su creación deseos de paz. Anhelamos la  paz intensamente, pero no escuchamos las voces de  quienes están alrededor, necesitando reconciliación, paz;  incluso puede que callemos a nuestra propia voz. El  primer paso hacia la reconciliación que trae el disfrute  de la paz es escuchar.

Hay  que estar dispuestos a escuchar a  Dios,  el silbido  apacible de la brisa divina que se muestra donde menos  la esperamos y trae el consejo bueno.

El Señor da  lo  que es bueno. Para lograr este fruto  tenemos el deber de hacer nuestra parte, comenzando  por tomar conciencia, animarnos los unos a los otros  para hacerlo en grupos, con amistades, familiares.

¡Animémonos! Escuchar es un paso firme hacia la paz.

 

Oración: Amado  Dios,  en este dia queremos identificar  las voces que junto  a nosotros quieren la paz, escuchar tu  voz en aquellas  personas  que la buscan y que aconsejan.  Danos el  valor  necesario para escuchar. Amén.
