His providence—my prayer

Psalm 66

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!  (NIV)

Psalm 66:20

When we see and feel so many ties and pressures around us that discourage or hit us and ask us or don’t ask: Has God abandoned us?

What to say? We should respond with what the Lord has done for us, what he has given to our lives without asking, especially as answers to our prayers.

Psalm 66 invites the inhabitants of the whole earth to render glorious praise to God; the psalmist asks that they acclaim him joyfully and sing psalms in his name. His exhortation is a testimony because:

-What the Lord did, historically, for his people is the basis of an invitation to the whole world.

-We have to go through our sufferings so that they become an opportunity to testify.

-We are summoned to bless God for the preservation, the trial, the deep pain and the final and definitive liberation of his people.

-There is no church apart from those that compose it; the individual responding spiritually with their dedication to him, testimony and praise of him.

-God’s providential dealings with his people spring from his own will and acts; but the blessing that is manifested does not come without prayer and holiness.

Prayer: Good God, in our hearts, let nothing quench the desire to praise and glorify you. Amen

Su providencia... mi oraciĂłn

Salmo 66
