FILL US WITH THE SPIRIT
EPHESIANS: 5:1-20
…instead, be filled
with the Spirit…
Ephesians 5:18
The tensions of daily life tire us and we
need something to distract us. Distraction is necessary, and can, if we take
care in the form we employ it, be very healthy in our lives. These
distractions should never be disorderly. Paul tells us that we should tread
cautiously, not as fools, rather as wise men, because the days are evil. We
should never act recklessly, rather attuning our steps to God’s will.
Direct your eyes
ahead and ask yourself, “Are we truly filled with God’s Spirit, or are we so
laden with problems and upsets that we don’t allow it any space?” What does
this call to feel ourselves Full of
Spirit mean?
How should we be full
of the Spirit? By reading the word constantly, by praying fervently that the Father
might bestow wisdom, joy and love; by behaving justly and by building peace
around us…
Christ said that his
Father would give this Spirit abundantly to those who ask; meaning, to those
who walked unswervingly in their journey, without vacillation. Therefore, let’s
spend this Advent with the earnest desire to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through
our existence.
Prayer: We ask, God, that
you teach us to walk wisely in the Spirit. Be with us this Advent and fill us
with the Spirit. Amen.

DEL ESPÍRITU
EFESIOS

bien sed llenos del Espíritu…
Efesios 5:18
Las
tensiones de la vida diaria, nos traen fatiga, y necesitamos algo para
distraernos. La distracción es necesaria, y esta, si tenemos cuidado de que
forma la hacemos, puede ser muy sana para nuestras vidas.
Estas
distracciones, no deben ser, jamás, desordenadas. Pablo nos dice que debemos
andar con cuidado, no como necios sino como sabios; porque los días son malos.
Jamás debemos actuar de forma alocada, sino poniendo nuestro andar en la
voluntad de Dios.
Pongamos
la mirada en nuestro caminar diario y preguntémonos ¿Estamos en realidad llenos
del Espíritu de Dios, o cargamos con tantos problemas y malestares que no le
dejamos espacio?
¿Qué
significado tiene este llamado a sentirnos llenos del Espíritu?
¿Cómo
debemos ser llenos del Espíritu?, pues, leyendo constantemente la palabra,
orando fervientemente para que el Padre nos de sabiduría, gozo y amor, actuando
con justicia, edificando la paz en medio nuestro...
Cristo
dijo que su Padre daría abundantemente de este Espíritu a aquellos que le
pidan, pero a los que anden firmes en sus caminos, sin vacilación. Por tanto,
vivamos este tiempo de Adviento con el deseo ferviente de dejar que el Espíritu Santo fluya en nuestra
existencia.
Oración:
Te pedimos Dios,
que nos enseñes a andar sabiamente en el Espíritu. Acompáñanos en este
Adviento y llénanos de tu Espíritu. Amén.
