LET'S LISTEN TO OUR GOD’S SONG

Jeremiah 7: 23-28

But this command I gave them, “Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk only in the way that I command you, so that it may be well with you.

The contemporary world is plagued by storms and various noises that lead us to constant disturbance and disorientation. Communication is difficult for us. Listening to pleasant melodies is not common for many. Moments of quiet and rest become a yearning. Nevertheless, God continues to sing . . . . . God wants us to discover his harmonious song and prepare to enjoy the warmth of his voice. Without a doubt, it is important to hear it! Delighting in the sound of divine music connects us with the God of Lent. . . with the God of History and of Hope. Showing us faithfulness has been a true promise of God. Hearing the clear and firm voice of God in the midst of such circumstances is a great challenge. Therefore, not listening to God’s voice–God’s song–will always be a sign of weakness and infirmity.

God’s voice is sung! Let’s join our voices to God’s! It is time to sing the Alleluia of the journey! It is time to hear God’s voice in the midst of shouts, murmurs and silences, through the lost and the found, and even in the twilight of those who ask. God has sung his song! All will be well.

 

Prayer: God, thank you for your voice which is music to our ears! May our ears be ready to hear with joy and may we be able to join our voices to strengthen your song in these times. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

ESCUCHEMOS EL CANTO DE NUESTRO DIOS

Jeremías 7: 23-28

Mers esto les mandé, diciendo: Escuchad mi voz, y seré a vosotros por Dios, y vosotros me seréis por pueblo; y andad en todo camino que os mande, para que os vaya bien.

El mundo contemporáneo está plagado de tormentosos y diversos ruidos que nos conllevan a la constante perturbación y desorientación. Se nos dificulta la comunicación. Escuchar melodías agradables no es frecuente para muchos. Los momentos de quietud y descanso se convierten en un anhelo. Sin embargo, nuestro Dios permanece cantando...

Es un gran desafío escuchar la voz clara y firme de Dios en medio de tales circunstancias. Dios quiere que descubramos su canto armonioso y nos dispongamos a disfrutar la calidez de su voz. ¡Sin lugar a dudas es importante escucharle! Deleitarnos en el sonido de la música divina nos relaciona con el Dios de la Cuaresma...con el Dios de la Historia y de la Esperanza. Ha sido una verdadera promesa de Dios mostrarnos fidelidad. Por tanto, no escuchar su voz –su canto-, será siempre un gesto de debilidad y flaqueza.

¡Dios ha entonado su voz! ¡Unamos a su voz las nuestras! ¡Es tiempo de cantar el Aleluya del camino! Es la hora de escuchar su voz en medio de los gritos, los murmullos y los silencios; a través de los perdidos y los encontrados; en las luces y en las sombras; y hasta en la entre-luz de los que preguntan. ¡Dios ha entonado su canto! ¡Todo va a estar bien!

 

Oración: ¡Gracias Dios por tu voz que es música para nuestros oídos! Permite que nuestros oídos estén prestos a la escucha con gozo y podamos juntar nuestras voces para fortalecer tu canto en estos tiempos. En el nombre de Jesucristo. Amén.
