SHARING WITH LOVE

LUKE 22:15-20

 

He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat

this Passover with you before I suffer”

Luke 22:15

Almost invariably we mark our farewells with a meal or a dinner shared in love together with those we care about. To share a meal with someone is to show intimacy, hospitality and trust. Jesus knew that the end was drawing near when he would no longer be among his friends and he took the opportunity to make everything ready to dine with them. In his life, Jesus constantly demonstrated love.

As we draw near to Holy Week, we ought to keep in mind this expression of Jesus’ love. A love that doesn’t exclude. A love which leads us to accompany others amid suffering, to celebrate with others around the table amid scarcity. A love that revives us every day in the midst of our daily deaths. Let’s live this Holy Week with a great amount of love.

Jesus showed love to his disciples by taking part in a meal where they shared and supported each other.  We should celebrate in the same by, by showing our love for one another.

Prayer: Grant, Lord, that our sharing with others may be the mark of a genuine love. May we always be ready to share much or little. We want to love as you have loved us. In the name of Christ, Amen.

COMPARTIENDO CON AMOR

                                            LUCAS  22: 15-20

 

Jesús les dijo:¡Cuánto he querido celebrar con ustedes

esta cena de Pascua antes de mi muerte!

                                                                                                           Lucas 22:15

Casi siempre sellamos nuestras despedidas con una comida o cena, compartida en amor junto a nuestros seres queridos. Compartir la mesa con alguien es demostrar intimidad, hospitalidad y confianza. Jesús sabía que el fin de acercaba, que ya no iba a estar entre sus amigos y aprovecha la oportunidad de prepararlo todo para cenar con ellos. Jesús en su vida constantemente demostraba amor.

Cuando nos acercamos a la Semana Santa, debemos tener muy presente este gesto de amor del Maestro. Un amor que no excluye. Un amor que nos lleva a acompañar en medio del sufrimiento, a celebrar alrededor de la mesa en medio de la escasez. Un amor que nos hace resucitar cada día en medio de nuestras muertes cotidianas. Vivamos esta Semana Santa con grandes dosis de amor.

Jesús demostró amor a sus discípulos y discípulas participando de una cena donde pudieron compartir y apoyarse mutuamente. Así debemos celebrar nosotros también, demostrando amor unos por otros.

Oración: Permite, Señor, que nuestro compartir con los demás esté marcado por un amor genuino. Que siempre estemos dispuestos a compartir lo mucho y lo poco. Queremos amar así como tú nos has amado. En el nombre de Cristo. Amén.
