A NEW LIFE
REVELATION 21:1, 3-4
Then I saw a new
heaven and a new earth,
for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away,
and there was no
longer any sea.
Revelation 21: 1
Traditionally the
book of Revelation has been placed
aside as being a different book, hard to understand for its symbolic language. And
this is the book that arose when the church was persecuted, and which John
wrote using this enigmatic language to give a message of hope, but at the same
time, by doing so, he didn’t put Christians in danger.
The Bible begins with
a cosmogony; the book of Revelation
ends with an even more beautiful vision in which God’s joy overflows: Now I make everything new.
The resuscitated body
of Jesus was the beginning of this new universe. God transforms all things, he
doesn’t destroy them like in the flood, rather he makes them all new.
God lives amid all
humanity, and pours out his joy upon us. He ends the sufferings that have
filled our lives and fills us with joy and with the peace that cannot be found
in any place on earth, but that can be found at God’s breast.
Every new day offers
us the opportunity to begin to live a new life. How does one achieve that? We
must have the will to change, transforming ourselves in peace, love, and hope.
Prayer: God of life, God of light and hope,
transform our lives, and may our trust in you be everlasting. Amen.

VIDA NUEVA
APOCALIPSIS 21:1,3-4
Después
vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva;
pues
el primer cielo y la primera tierra
habían
desaparecido y el mar no existe ya
Apocalipsis 21: 1
Tradicionalmente
el Apocalipsis ha sido puesto a un lado por ser un libro diferente, difícil de
comprender por su lenguaje simbólico. Y es que este libro surgió cuando la
Iglesia era perseguida y Juan escribe con este lenguaje para dar un mensaje de
esperanza, pero que a la vez, no pusiera
en peligro a los cristianos.
La
Biblia comenzó con una visión de la creación del universo; el Apocalipsis
finaliza con una visión más hermosa, en la que se desborda el gozo de Dios: Ahora
todo lo hago nuevo.
El
cuerpo de Jesús resucitado fue el principio de este universo nuevo. Dios
transforma todas las cosas, no las destruye como en el diluvio, sino que las
hace todas nuevas.
Dios
habita en medio de toda la humanidad y derrama en nosotros su felicidad. Acaba
con los sufrimientos que llenaron nuestras vidas y nos llena del gozo y la paz
que no se pueden dar en ningún lugar de la tierra, pero sí en el seno de Dios.
Cada
nuevo día nos brinda la oportunidad de comenzar a vivir una vida nueva y ¿cómo
lograrlo? Debemos tener la voluntad de cambiar, transformándonos en paz, amor y
esperanza.
Oración:
Dios de la vida, de la luz y de la esperanza,
transforma nuestras vidas y que nuestra confianza en ti sea infinita. Amén.
