PREPARATIONS FOR CONQUEST

Joshua 1: 1-11

I hereby command you:  Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 (NRSV)

            Many people think that prosperity and success come from having power, personal contacts, and an unending desire to advance.

            But the strategy for success that God taught Joshua contradicts these criteria.  God said that to prosper one should:

·    Be strong and brave because the task awaiting you will not be easy.

·    Obey the law of God.

·    Read and study constantly the book of the law, which is the Word of God.

            Therefore, each one who considers him or herself a good Christian, must follow the advice that God gave to Joshua in order to find success. 

            It is possible not to be victorious according to the norms of this world, but we will triumph in the eyes of God; and the opinion of the Lord lasts forever. 

 

Prayer: Beloved Father, allow us to be your children, let us obey your Word and be guided by it, not by the currents of selfish success.  Amen.

PREPARATIVOS PARA LA CONQUISTA

Josue 1: 1-11

Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente, no temas, ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios , estará contigo en donde quiera que vayas...

Josué 1:9

            Muchas personas piensan que la prosperidad y el éxito provienen de tener poder, contactos personales y un inexorable deseo de avanzar.

            Pero la estrategia para el éxito que Dios le enseñó a Josué contradice tales criterios. Él le dijo que para prosperar debía:

·Ser fuerte y valiente porque la tarea que le esperaba no era fácil.

·Obedecer la Ley de Dios.

·Constantemente leer y estudiar el libro de la ley, que es la Palabra de Dios.

            Por eso, todo aquel que se considere un buen cristiano, para tener éxito debe seguir los consejos que Dios le dio a Josué.

            Es posible que no triunfe según las normas de este mundo, pero triunfará ante los ojos de Dios; y la opinión del Señor dura para siempre.

 

Oración: Padre amado,  permite que como hijos tuyos, podamos obedecer tu Palabra y ser guiados por ella, no por las corrientes de un éxito egoísta. Amén.
