World Environment Day

SEIZE THE DAY!

2 Corinthians 5:16-6:2

 …See, now is the acceptable time; see now is the day of Salvation!

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NRSV)

            Ivan was a college student who seemed genuinely interested in Christianity and had many questions about Christ’s teachings. But when he was invited to commit to Jesus, Ivan flatly rejected him and said, “I am too young for something like this! I’ve got my whole life ahead of me.”

            Regardless of our age, many of us are still looking for excuses to delay making a commitment to God, thinking we have a lot of time. “Carpe diem” is a Latin aphorism that can be translated as “Seize the day”. In many cultures you can find sayings with similar meanings.

            The Bible tells us about the urgency of making our commitment to God. The Apostle Paul urges us not to delay when it comes to our salvation. We have the privilege of living in an age of grace when the gospel is proclaimed throughout the world. That’s something to be grateful for but it may not always be like this. . Besides, we never know when our life will end on this earth, slowly or suddenly. So, I urge you to believe in Jesus and find peace with God today!

 

Prayer: Father, give us wisdom to take appreciate the opportunities we have. Let us rely on Jesus for our salvation today and always. Amen.

Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente

¡APROVECHAR EL MOMENTO!

2 Corintios 5:16-6:2

Y ahora es el momento oportuno. ¡Ahora es el día de salvación!

2 Cor 6:2

            Iván era un estudiante universitario que parecía estar genuinamente interesado en el cristianismo y tenía muchas preguntas sobre las enseñanzas de Cristo. Pero cuando lo invitaron a comprometerse con Jesúús, Iván lo rechazó rotundamente y dijo: “¡Soy demasiado joven para algo así! Tengo toda mi vida por delante”.

            Independientemente de nuestra edad, muchos de nosotros todavía buscamos excusas para demorarnos en hacer un compromiso con Dios, pensando que tenemos mucho tiempo. “Carpe diem” es un aforismo latino que se puede traducir como “Aprovecha el día”. En muchas culturas se pueden encontrar refranes con significados similares.

            La Biblia nos habla acerca de la urgencia de hacer nuestro compromiso con Dios. El Apóstol Pablo nos insta a no demorarnos cuando se trata de nuestra salvación. Tenemos el privilegio de vivir en una era de gracia, cuando el evangelio se proclama en todo el mundo. Eso es algo para estar agradecido. Pero puede que no sea así siempre. Además, nunca sabemos cuándo terminará nuestra vida en esta tierra, lenta o repentinamente. ¡Así que les insto a creer en Jesús y encontrar la paz con Dios hoy mismo!

 

Oración: Padre, danos sabiduría para apreciar las oportunidades que tenemos. Apoyémonos en Jesús para nuestra salvación hoy y siempre. Amén.
