THE IMPOSSIBLE TASK

Zechariah 4:1-10

“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that ranges throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?” (NIV)

Zechariah 4:10

            God wanted Zerubbabel to rebuild the temple, but this seemed impossible. How? With what?

            I felt God encouraging me in the face of the new decisions that have been made in Cuba regarding the monetary order. I asked myself the same question, “How, with what?” Like Zerubbabel, God did not give me a direct answer. But I said to him, “Lord, I trust in you. Show me how.”

            I felt God at work. It’s not with an army, nor with force, but with the Holy Spirit, that incredible things began to happen. In Zerubbabel’s time, God used little things and ordinary people to rebuild the temple. God uses ordinary people doing little things to get through this difficult financial situation that affects us all.

            The word of encouragement and hope from family, friends, and siblings who have grown up in the face of difficulties has not been lacking. We have also felt first-hand the voices of those who sow panic and despair. God calls us even in the midst of difficult times.

            The church must play her role, serving inside and outside the temple, accompanying, encouraging, comforting and helping everyone. Now I understand that if God calls, we don’t need to know everything. If we are obedient the Spirit can do what we consider impossible. God changes mountains into valleys.

 

Prayer: Father, thank you that with your Spirit we can accomplish what seems impossible. Lead us to victory for you. Raise up those who have lost faith and hope. Amen.

LA TAREA IMPOSIBLE

Zacarias 4:1-10

Aquellos que no tomaron en serio los pequeños comienzos, ahora se alegrarán viendo a Zorobabel terminar las obras.

Zac. 4:10

            Dios quería que Zorobabel reconstruyera el templo, pero esto parecía imposible. ¿Cómo? ¿Con qué? Sentí a Dios animándome frente a las nuevas decisiones que se han tomado en Cuba con respecto al ordenamiento monetario. Me hice las mismas preguntas. ¿Cómo? ¿Con qué? Al igual que a Zorobabel, Dios no me dio una respuesta directa. Pero al decirle: “Señor en Ti confío. Muéstrame cómo”, sentí a Dios obrando. No es con ejército, ni con fuerza, sino con el Espíritu Santo, que comienzan a ocurrir cosas increíbles.

            En tiempos de Zorobabel, Dios usó pequeñas cosas y gente común para reconstruir el Templo. Dios usa gente común haciendo pequeñas cosas para atravesar esta difícil situación económica que nos afecta a todos. No ha faltado la palabra de ánimo y esperanza de familiares, amigos y hermanos que se crecen frente a las dificultades. También hemos sentido en carne propia las voces de aquellos que siembran el pánico y la desesperanza.

            Dios nos llama aun en medio de tiempos difíciles. La Iglesia debe desempeñar su rol; sirviendo dentro y fuera del templo: acompañando, animando, consolando y ayudando a todos. Ahora comprendo que, si Dios llama, no necesitamos saberlo todo. Si somos obedientes, el Espíritu puede hacer lo que consideramos imposible. Dios cambia las montaññas en valles.

 

Oración: Padre, gracias porque con tu Espíritu podemos lograr lo que parece imposible. Guíanos a la victoria por ti. Levanta a quienes han perdido la fe y la esperanza. Améén.
