GOD DOES NOT GIVE UP ON US

Joshua 2:9-11

When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below.

Joshua 2:11 (NIV)

            The Israelites were eager to enter the promised land. After the death of Moses, Joshua was the leader of the people. Before the final battle, before assuming God’s promise, he appointed two men to spy on the land that would be conquered. While there, the men hid in the house of a prostitute. Rahab confessed that both she and all the inhabitants of the city were very afraid of the people of Israel. That people knew the miracles and wonders that God had performed to preserve and protect the Israelites and recognized that such power could never be overcome. Then, the eyes of these men [the spies] opened to the idea that the Lord was at their side and that there was no reason to fear.

            Consequently, when God is by our side, we do not have  to be afraid. If what we do is in accordance with the will of the Lord, other people should fear because our Father is almighty. He does not leave his children helpless.  So, when you are afraid remember this: God is and will always be by our side. No matter when, or how or what happens, He will never abandon us. Even if you have given up on yourself, in fighting situations, circumstance and problems, He will not give up.  God is ready to shelter and strengthen us so that we can overcome fear. 

 

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, I beg that you emphasize this with me. Increase my faith. I look for you every day.  Send your Holy Spirit, blow your breath of love on me. Amen.

DIOS NO DESISTE DE NOSOTROS

Josué 2:9-11

Cuando lo supimos, nos dio mucho miedo y nos desanimamos. Reconocemos que el Dios de ustedes reina en el cielo y también aquí en la tierra

Josué 2:11

            Los israelitas estaban ansiosos por entrar a la tierra prometida. Después de la muerte de Moisés, Josué era el líder del pueblo. Antes de la batalla final, antes de asumir la promesa de Dios, designó a dos hombres para espiar la tierra que sería conquistada. Estando allí se escondieron en la casa de una prostituta, Rahab, quien le confesó que tanto ella como todos los habitantes de la ciudad tenían mucho miedo al pueblo de Israel. Entonces, los ojos de aquellos hombres se abrieron a la idea de que el Señor estaba al lado de ellos y que no existían motivos para temer.

            En consecuencia, cuando Dios está a nuestro lado, no tenemos por qué temer. Si lo que hacemos está de acuerdo con la voluntad del Señor, son otras las personas que deben temer, porque nuestro Padre es Todopoderoso. Él no deja a sus hijos desamparados. Por eso, cuando sientas miedo, recuerda esto: Dios está y estará siempre a nuestro lado. No importa cuándo, o cómo, o qué suceda, Él nunca nos abandonará. Aunque usted desista de sí mismo, de luchar contra las situaciones, las circunstancias y los problemas, Él no desistirá. Dios está listo para darnos refugio y fortalecernos para que nosotros podamos vencer el miedo.

Oración: Señor Jesús, te ruego que insistas conmigo. Aumenta mi fe. Te busco todos los días. Envía tu Espíritu Santo, sopla sobre mí tu aliento de amor. Amén.
