KEEP PUSHING

Hebrews  11:32-40

            They talk about a good man who lived in the country, but who had physical problems. One day Jesus appeared to him and said to him: I need you to go toward that big rock on the mountain and push it day and night for a year. The man was perplexed when he heard these words, but he obeyed and went to the huge rock.  He began to push it with all his strength, day after day, but he was unable to move it even a millimeter.

            In a few weeks, the devil put thoughts in his mind: “Why do you keep obeying? I wouldn’t follow someone who makes me work so hard with no reason.”  The man asked Jesus to help him not to doubt his will and even though he didn’t understand, he stood with his decision: each day that man pushed the huge rock without being able to move it.  When the time was up, he lifted a prayer to Jesus and he said: “I have done what you asked me to do, but I have failed.  I could not move the rock even one centimeter.”  And he sat down to cry bitterly.  Jesus appeared in this moment and said to him, Why are you crying? I asked you to push the rock. I never asked you to move it. On the other hand, look at you now, your physical problem has disappeared thanks to your strength.  You have not failed.  You were a part of my plan.

            Many times we look at situations and adversities in life as illogical, and we start to rationalize God’s will.  The Lord has called us to “push” no matter how many doubtful thoughts the enemy puts in our minds. 

 

Prayer: We put everything in your hands, Lord; and by your will, we know that you will never waste our time; even better, you will make us stronger.  Amen.

SEGUIR EMPUJANDO

Hebreos  11:32-40

            Cuentan que un buen hombre vivía en el campo, pero tenía problemas físicos. Un día se le apareció Jesús y le dijo: Necesito que vayas hacia aquella gran roca de la montaña, y la empujes día y noche durante un año. El hombre quedó perplejo cuando escuchó  esas palabras, pero obedeció y se dirigió hacia la enorme  roca. Empezó a empujarla con todas sus fuerzas, día tras día, pero no conseguía moverla ni un milímetro.

            A las pocas semanas el diablo puso pensamientos en su mente: “¿Por qué sigues obedeciendo? Yo no seguiría a alguien que me haga trabajar tanto y sin sentido”. El hombre pedía a Jesús que le ayudara a no dudar de su voluntad, y aunque  no entendía, se mantuvo en pie con su decisión; cada día aquel hombre empujaba la enorme roca sin poder moverla. Cuando se cumplió el tiempo, elevó una oración a Jesús y le dijo: “he hecho lo que me pediste, pero he fracasado. No pude mover la piedra ni un centímetro”. Y se sentó a llorar amargamente. Jesús apareció en ese momento y le dijo: ¿Por qué lloras? Te pedí que empujaras la roca, nunca te pedí que la movieras. En cambio mírate, tu problema físico ha desaparecido gracias a tu esfuerzo. No has fracasado. Fuiste parte de mi plan.

            Muchas veces vemos como ilógicas algunas situaciones y adversidades de la vida, y empezamos a racionalizar  la voluntad divina. El Señor nos ha llamado a “empujar” sin importar qué tantos pensamientos de duda ponga el enemigo en nuestras mentes.

 

Oración: Ponemos  todo en tus manos, Señor; y  por tu voluntad, sabemos que nunca nos harás perder el tiempo; más bien, nos harás más fuertes. Amén.
