THE ONLY SECURITY

Psalm 118:8-10

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.

Psalm 118:8 (NRSV)

            We live in a time in which there is no credibility for the word “trust.” It is difficult to trust anyone; it’s not enough to know his name, where he lives, nor how long we have known each other. Thus, we easily feel fear, insecurity, afraid of being betrayed, deceived, assaulted, and even killed. We are afraid of any of these unfortunate occurrences happening to ourselves or our families.

            Nevertheless, there is a God whom we can trust. It is much better to depend on God than on any other human being. In this way, it makes no difference if we are surrounded by enemies. God will give us victory. Through Jesus. God obtained something that no one can take from us: eternal life.

            God is the strong Rock of the Christian family. We can lose everything: friends, goods, health, work, etc., but God will not abandon us.

 

Prayer: My good God, thank you that in Christ we can remain firm in our journey; remembering that God is with us, we need not fear. Nothing can harm us. Amen.

LA UNICA SEGURIDAD

Salmo 118:8-10

Vale más confiar en Dios que confiar en gente importante

Salmo 118:8

            Vivimos en una época en la que no existe credibilidad en la palabra “confianza”. Es difícil  confiar en alguien, no es suficiente saber su nombre o lo que dice, dónde vive, ni cuanto tiempo hace que lo conocemos. Por eso fácilmente sentimos miedo e inseguridad, temor a ser traicionados, engañados, asaltados y hasta asesinados. Tenemos miedo de que nos ocurra cualquiera de estas situaciones desgraciadas a nosotros o a nuestros familiares.

            No obstante, hay un Dios en quien podemos confiar. Y es mucho mejor depender  de Él que de cualquier otro ser humano. De esa manera, no importa si nos rodean los enemigos. Dios nos dará la victoria. A través de Jesús, Él conquistó algo que nadie nos puede quitar: la vida eterna.

            Dios es la Roca firme de la familia cristiana. Podemos perder todo: amigos, bienes, salud, empleo, etc.; pero Dios no nos abandonará.

 

Oración: Gracias mi buen Dios, porque en Cristo, podemos continuar firmes nuestro camino, recordando que Dios está con nosotros no tenemos miedo. Nadie puede hacernos daño. Amén.
