A DIFFICULT BUT NECESSARY TASK

Acts 5:1-11

Peter said to her,” How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord?” (NIV)

Acts 5:9

Behind certain very “Christian” attitudes there are, at times, hidden, mixed, and egotistical interests that only serve to bring curses and failure in life.

Those situations can present themselves, even when we are genuinely directed by the Spirit of God; but there will always be men and women who are able to take the necessary means to apply the adequate solutions, like those related in the cited biblical passage.

We can in no way allow our sentimentalism or our Christian love to impede us from doing the correct thing in determined circumstances, in the way the work of God proceeds forward. Christ gave us an example to follow in this, being human and considering the person in all his needs and weaknesses, but being uncompromising with the wrong done and condemning any attitude that goes against the principles of the Gospel.

 

Prayer: Lord, we ask you that there may always be believers fearful of God in the church, but capable of doing your will at all times. Amen.

TAREA DIFICIL, PERO NECESARIA

Hechos 5:1-11

Y Pedro le dijo: ¿Por qué convinisteis en tentar al Espíritu del Señor?

Hechos 5:9

            Detrás de ciertas actitudes muy “cristianas” se esconde, a veces, intereses mezquinos y egoístas que sólo sirven para traer maldición y fracaso en la vida.

            Cuando somos genuinamente dirigidos por el Espíritu de Dios, estas situaciones pueden presentarse, pero siempre habrá hombres y mujeres que sean capaces de tomar las medidas necesarias  para aplicar las soluciones adecuadas, como las relatadas en el pasaje bíblico citado.

            No podemos permitir de ninguna manera que nuestro sentimentalismo o nuestro amor cristiano, nos impida hacer lo correcto en determinadas circunstancias, de modo que la obra de Dios pueda marchar hacia adelante. Cristo nos dio ejemplo a seguir en esto, siendo humano y considerando a la persona en todas sus necesidades y debilidades, pero siendo intransigente con lo mal hecho y condenando toda actitud que vaya en contra de los principios del evangelio.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos que siempre haya en la Iglesia creyentes temerosos de Dios, pero capaces de hacer tu voluntad en todos los momentos. Amén.
