WHAT WILL I ASK FROM GOD TODAY?

2 Chronicles 1:9-10

That night, God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

2 Chronicles 1:7 (NIV)

            Can you imagine what your reaction would be if God asked you this today? What would you ask? Riches, good health, honors, the death of your enemies, long life?

            This was Solomon’s response to God: “Give me wisdom and intelligence so that I can rule a people as great as yours! Because without your help no one can do it.”

            Solomon's request pleased God, who in addition to granting him his wish, made him the richest, most powerful, and most famous king that ever existed.

            Our God asks the same question of his children today: What do you want to ask of me? In Matthew 7:7-11 we are motivated to  pray asking what we need from the Lord, our Father. In James 4:1-3, we discover why many times, we are not granted what we ask for. So, these two biblical texts offer us proper guidance on how we should ask God.

            Faced with this question that the Lord asks you and, thinking of the texts mentioned, what will you ask of God today?

 

Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to ask anything of you. I only want to thank you for all that you have given me. We are so blessed by you! Amen .

¿QUE LE PEDIRA HOY A DIOS?

2 Crónicas 1:9-10

Esa noche, Dios se le apareció a Salomón y le dijo: Pídeme lo que quieras, y yo te lo daré.

2 Crónicas 1:7

            ¿Usted podría imaginar cuál sería su reacción si hoy Dios le hiciera esta pregunta? ¿Qué pediría? ¿Riquezas, bienes, honras, la muerte de sus enemigos, larga vida?

            Esta fue la respuesta de Salomón a Dios: ¡Dame sabiduría e inteligencia para que pueda gobernar a un pueblo tan grande como el tuyo! Porque sin tu ayuda, nadie es capaz de hacerlo.

            El pedido de  Salomón agradó a Dios, quien además  de concederle su deseo, lo hizo el rey más rico, poderoso y famoso que haya existido.

            Nuestro Dios hace la misma pregunta hoy a sus hijos: ¿Qué quieren pedirme? En Mateo 7:7-11 somos incentivados para que oremos pidiendo lo que necesitamos al Señor, nuestro Padre; y en Santiago 4:1-3, descubrimos  la razón por la cual, muchas veces no se nos concede lo que pedimos. Por lo tanto estos dos textos bíblicos nos ofrecen una adecuada orientación sobre cómo debemos pedirle a Dios.

            Ante esta pregunta que el Señor le hace a la luz de las citas mencionadas, ¿Qué le pedirás hoy a Dios?

 

Oración: Señor, hoy no quiero pedirte nada, solo agradecerte por todo cuanto me das. ¡Somos tan bendecidos por ti! Amén.
