LIVING THE FAST LIFE

Proverbs 10:1-16

The Lord doesn’t let the righteous starve, but he rejects the desires of the wicked.

Prov. 10:3 (CEB)

Despite all the advances of technology and the progress that has been made in the service of human beings, the human who lives today is tyrannized by these technological means and in a much more fast-paced way than he or she ever dreamed.  We must recognize that many people today live in a fast-paced way.  Literally they don’t have time or at least they say they don’t have time, for anything. They have left behind their own values, their personal life, their family life, their spiritual life, and all of those things that are important in trying to reach the goals that they have made,  They are on an unbridled road that no longer has limits.

            The sad thing is that when a person falls into this train of activities, he thinks that the whole world is living in the same way– there is no stopping to think and reflect.

            All who do this are mistaken.  People and families still exist who try to preserve their values and principles.  They have not fallen into this crazy road that seems endless.  Believers in God welcome God’s promises; they believe in the one who has given and thus they feel in their souls the need to share what they have received. 

 

Prayer: Lord, help us to live with an attitude of gratitude for all that we have received and which gives meaning to life.  Let us to be equipped to share what we have received.  Amen.

VIVIR LA VIDA ACELERADA

Proverbios 10:1-16

“El Señor no deja con hambre al que es bueno, pero impide al malvado calmar su apetito”

Pr. 10:3

            A pesar de todos los avances de la tecnología y del progreso que se han puesto al servicio del ser humano, este vive hoy día tiranizado por esos medios tecnológicos y en una manera mucho más acelerada de lo que soñó. Tenemos que reconocer que mucha gente hoy díía vive en una forma acelerada. Literalmente no tienen tiempo o por lo menos ellos dicen que no tienen tiempo para nada. Han descuidado sus propios valores, su vida personal, su vida familiar, su vida espiritual y todas aquellas cosas que importan tratando de alcanzar las metas que se han impuesto, pero en una carrera desenfrenada que ya no tiene límites.

            Lo lamentable es que cuando una persona cae en este tren de actividades considera que todo el mundo está viviendo en la misma manera por lo que no se detiene a pensar y a reflexionar.

            Todos los que esto hacen están equivocados. Existen todavía personas y familias que tratan de preservar sus valores y sus principios. No han caído en esa carrera loca que pareciera que no tiene fin. Los creyentes en Dios se acogen a sus promesas; creen en quien las ha dado y además sienten en su alma la necesidad de compartir lo recibido.

 

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos a vivir con una actitud de agradecimiento por todo lo que hemos recibido y que le da sentido a la vida. Permite que seamos capaces de compartir lo recibido. Amén.
