Reflections of his light

                                                               Matthew 5: 14-16 

                                                      We walk in the light of the Lord.                  Isaiah 2: 5

     Jesus says that we Christians are like the light of the world; which is as though he were saying that we Christians disperse the darkness. That we help people so that they may truly live. The world is shouting for the light of justice, truth, and peace.

     On some occasions Jesus referred to himself as the light of the world (John 8: 12; 12: 35-36, 46). The relationship between those two declarations Jesus made is that Jesus is the source of the light, and we are a reflection of it. We are like the moon which has no light of its own, but reflects the glory of the sun.

     If our lives reflect Christ’s light, if our daily behavior brings forth Christ’s teachings, then it cannot be hidden, and although we may withhold “the stones themselves will shout.”

  Jesus says, “One does not light a lamp to put it under a basket, rather one puts it on a stand so that it give light to all those who are in the house.”

Prayer:  Light of light, illuminate our lives so that we can reflect your immense love to the world. Amen.

REFLEJOS DE SU LUZ

Mateo 5:14-16

“Caminemos a la luz del Señor”

Isaías 2:5

Jesús dice que los cristianos somos como la luz del mundo. Con esto está queriendo decir que los cristianos estamos para disipar las tinieblas. Que debemos ayudar a las gentes para que puedan vivir de verdad. El mundo grita por la luz de la justicia, la verdad y la paz.

En algunas ocasiones Jesús habló de sí mismo como la luz del mundo (Jn 8,12; 12,35-36 y 46). La relación entre estas dos declaraciones de Jesús es que Jesús es la fuente de la luz, y nosotros somos el reflejo de su luz. Nosotros somos como la luna que no tiene luz propia, pero refleja la gloria del sol.

Si nuestra vida refleja la luz de Cristo, si nuestra conducta diaria actualiza las enseñanzas de Cristo, eso no se puede esconder, y aunque callemos "las piedras gritarán".

Jesús dice: “No se enciende una lámpara para ponerla debajo de un cajón, sino para ponerla en lo alto para que alumbre a todos los que están en la casa”.

Oración: Luz de luz, ilumina nuestra vida para que podamos reflejar al mundo tu inmenso amor. Amén.
