THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 29th

WHEN WE WALK WITH GOD

Psalm 1

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Psalm 1:6 (NIV)

In the hymns of glory there is a chorus that says: “To obey fulfills our duty: if you want to be happy, you must obey.” The Bible teaches us that our hearts should be attentive to the good counsel of God and of those people who are interested in our well-being, although we may be in times of difficulty. Wisdom is found precisely in recognizing that we are not complete beings and that we need others in order to grow more each day. This requires a constant search for the Word of God which we can find in the Holy Scriptures, in our prayer and in community life.

Let us walk in the righteous path of service and love. God gives to us according to our actions. Think of two things: let us not act expecting reward, God always gives us more than we need and ask for.

 

Prayer: Oh, God, let us be obedient and trustworthy to your law so that peace and order may reign in our lives and the world. Amen

FEBRERO 29, JUEVES

CUANDO ANDEMOS CON DIOS.

Salmo 1

El Señor cuida el camino de los justos, pero el camino de los malos lleva al desastre.

Salmo 1 :6

En los himnos de gloria hay un coro que dice: “Obedecer cumple  a nuestro deber; si queréis ser felices, debéis obedecer”

La Biblia nos enseña que debemos tener  nuestros corazones atentos al buen consejo de Dios y de aquellas personas que se interesan por nuestro bien, aún cuando estemos en dificultades. La sabiduría se encuentra precisamente en reconocer que no somos seres completos y que necesitamos de los demás para crecer cada día más. Para eso es necesario la búsqueda constante de la Palabra de Dios que podemos encontrar en las Sagradas Escrituras, en nuestra oración y en la vida comunitaria

Andemos en los caminos justos de servicio y amor. Dios nos da de acuerdo a nuestras acciones. Pensar en dos cosas:  no actuemos esperando recompensa, Dios siempre nos da más de lo que necesitamos y pedimos.

 

Oración: Oh Dios , permite que seamos obedientes y cumplidores de tu ley para que reine la paz y el orden en nuestras vidas y en el mundo. Amén

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28th

BITTER PILL TO SWALLOW, A HARD TEST

Matthew 20 :17-28

--just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Matthew 20 :28 (NIV)

Living in constant availability to the needs of others is a form of imitating Jesus, who being God, did not come to be served, but rather to serve. Service is a form of helping others, and it is important not to have any reward other than gratification and strengthening of the spirit. 

Let us not expect any greater reward than this immense joy of feeling that we are sons and daughters of God, with a clear sense of life, with the constant effort of being better every day, with the commitment to serve and restore justice wherever we are.

It is time to remember our calling, reaching out to those who need us, to increase hope and to give an account of our full faith in God.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask you today to increase my faith in a way that you may also increase my capacity to give generously without expecting anything in return. Amen.

FEBRERO 28, MIERCOLES

TRAGO AMARGO. DURA PRUEBA.

Mateo 20 :17-28

Porque del mismo modo , el hijo del hombre no vino para que le sirvan, sino para servir y para dar su vida en rescate por una multitud.

Mateo 20 :28

Vivir en constante disponibilidad a necesidades ajenas es una forma de imitar a Jesús, quien siendo Dios, no vino a ser servido sino a servir. El servicio es una forma de ayudar a otras personas, es importante no tener recompensa alguna que no sea la gratificación y fortalecimiento del espiritu.

No esperemos una recompensa mayor que esta inmensa felicidad de sentirnos hijos e hijas de Dios, con un sentido de vida claro, con el esfuerzo constante de ser mejores cada dia, con el empeño de servir y restaurar justicia donde quiera que estemos.

Es tiempo de recordar nuestro llamado, llegar a quienes nos necesitan, aumentar la esperanza y dar cuenta de nuestra fe plena en Dios.

 

Oración: Señor Jesús, te pido en este dia aumentes mi fe de manera que puedas también aumentar mi capacidad de dar generosamente sin esperar nada a cambio. Amén

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27th

RICH OR POOR, WE ARE ALL EQUAL

Psalm 49

The ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough--

Psalm 49:8 (NIV)

If when you are born you bring nothing and when you die you take nothing with you… dedicate yourself then to being joyful!

This was sent to me by a friend on the telephone and I remembered Psalm 49. We are all equal, in the end we don’t take anything material with us. Spiritual wealth is not only defined by the relationship with God that one believes he or she has, but a good measure of the fruits that life shows.

It is not only the possession of goods that makes us rich. Life has a very high price that no money can buy.

Eternal life is not bought with material values, because material things are not important. What is important is to rid ourselves of everything that “weighs us down” and prevents us from walking in the freedom of the Kingdom.

Having material prosperity is a responsibility that we have before the Lord. We will be judged on how we obtained and how we use wealth.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus do not allow material things to divert us from the path that leads us to you. Use our riches for the welfare of your works. Amen.

FEBRERO 27, MARTES

RICOS Y POBRES TODOS SOMOS IGUALES.

Salmo 49

No hay dinero que pueda comprar la vida de los hombres;...

Salmo 49:8

Si cuando naces no traes nada y cuando mueres no te llevas nada.... ¡Dedícate entonces a ser feliz!

Esto me lo mandó una amiga al teléfono y me acordé del Salmo 49. Todos somos iguales, al final no nos llevamos nada material. La riqueza espiritual no solo la define la relación con Dios que uno cree tener, sino que una buena medida son los frutos que muestra esa vida.

No es solo la posesión de bienes lo que nos hace rico. La vida tiene un precio muy alto que ningún dinero puede comprar.

La vida eterna no se compra con valores materiales, porque lo material no es importante, lo importante es despojarse de todo lo que “pesa” y nos impide andar en la libertad del Reino.

Tener prosperidad material es una responsabilidad que tenemos delante del Señor. Seremos juzgados acerca de cómo obtuvimos y como usamos la riqueza.

 

Oración: Señor Jesús no permitas que las cosas materiales nos desvíen del camino que nos lleva a ti. Usa nuestras riquezas para bienestar de tus obras. Amén
