SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th

The wonders of God

Luke 9:43-45

And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.

Luke 9:43a (NIV)

Often, the people around us cannot understand how, even in the midst of difficult personal situations, we continue serving, helping, sharing the Good News; how, even with people hurting us, attacking us, trying to damage our integrity, we continue giving the best we have and continue caring for others and doing good.

It is true that it is difficult, when we are in complex moments, to not think only of ourselves, but it is possible when the strength of the Gospel is stronger than our own egoisms. To show the wonder of God means to show ourselves as living witnesses.

 

Prayer: God of life, give us the strength to always show your wonders amid all situations. Amen.

Las maravillas de Dios

Lucas 9:43-45

Y todos se quedaron asombrados de la grandeza de Dios

Lucas 9:43a

Muchas veces las personas a nuestro alrededor, no pueden comprender, cómo aún en medio de situaciones personales difficiles, seguimos sirviendo, ayudando, compartiendo la Buena Nueva, como aún con personas hiriéndonos, agrediéndonos, tratando de dañar nuestra integridad , aún seguimos dando lo mejor que tenemos y seguimos preocupados por los demás y haciendo el bien.

Es cierto que es difficil, cuando estamos en momentos complejos, no pensar solo en nosotros mismos, pero es posible cuando la fuerza del Evangelio es más fuerte que nuestros propios egofismos. Mostrar la maravilla de Dios, significa mostrarnos nosotros y nosotras como testimonio vivo.

 

Oración: Dios de la vida, danos la fuerza para mostrar siempre tus maravillas en medio de todas las situaciones. Amén.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th

True Christians?

John 1: 47-51

Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.

John 1: 47b (NIV)

Have you ever thought about how God would describe us?

What adjectives would you use to talk about each of us? Could you say, “there you have one true Christian, in whom there is no falsehood?”

We are not talking about perfection, we are talking about honesty, about having a life without falsehood. The path of the Christian faith is the path of transformation, of getting closer and closer to the true essence of God’s love. In our lives it should be a daily routine to be honest, to act justly, to show kindness, to grow spiritually, and to always try to be better human beings. And it should be so normal that it surprises us when someone recognizes all these qualities in us.

We are able to see great things in our lives, if they are full of good.

 

Prayer: Our God, fill us with honesty and kindness in every small daily act. Amen.

 

VIERNES, 29 DE SEPTIEMBRE

¿Verdaderamente Cristianos?

Juan 1: 47-51

Aquí tienen a un verdadero israelita, en quien no hay falsedad

Juan 1: 47b

Se han puesto a pensar ¿Cómo Dios nos describiría?

¿Qué adjetivos utilizaría para hablar de cada una, cada uno de nosotros y nosotras? ¿Podría decir “ ahí tienen a un verdadero cristiano, en quien no hay falsedad”?

No hablamos de perfección, hablamos de honestidad, de tener una vida sin falsedad. El camino de la fe cristiana, es el camino de transformación , de acercarnos cada vez más a la verdadera esencia del amor de Dios. En nuestra vida debe ser cotidiano ser honesto, actuar con justicia, mostrar bondad, crecer espiritualmente, intentar todo el tiempo ser mejores seres humanos. Y debe ser tan normal, que nos sorprenda cuando alguien reconoce todas esas cualidades en nosotras y nosotros.

Grandes cosas podremos ver en nuestras vidas, si estas están llenas del bien.

Oración: Dios nuestro, llénanos de honestidad y bondad en cada pequeño acto cotidiano. Amén.
