ABIDING IN JESUS.

John 15:1-10

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything.

John 15: 5 (CEB)

           The vine had become the symbol of the nation of Israel. The Jews believed that belonging to the nation of Israel guaranteed them salvation. Jesus makes them see that the only thing that could save them was whether they were vitally united with Him. He is the true Vine of God and therefore they had to be branches attached to Him. Jesus was establishing the principle that the true way to God's salvation is not to have Jewish blood, but to have faith in Him.

           We have to admit that for some, Christianity is pure profession without practice. Many define themselves as “believers” without practicing.

           We must keep in touch with Jesus. Praying and reading the Word in the morning will help us face our daily lives and will strengthen us spiritually. Abiding in Christ will be an experience of constant contact with the Lord. It is organizing life, prayer, and silence to meet Jesus.

 

Prayer: Thank you Lord, because You give us the opportunity every morning to enter communion with you. Show us how not to waste that precious time of encounter and to always remain in You. Amen.

PERMANECER EN JESUS.

Juan 15:1-10

Yo soy la vid; vosotros los sarmientos. El que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da mucho fruto; porque separados de mí no podéis hacer nada.

Jn. 15: 5

           La vid había llegado a ser el símbolo de la nación de Israel. Los judíos creían que el pertenecer a la nación de Israel les garantizaba la salvación. Jesús les hace ver que lo único que los podía salvar era si estaban unidos vitalmente con Él, porque Él es la auténtica Vid de Dios y, por tanto, tenían que ser sarmientos unidos a Él. Jesús estaba estableciendo el principio de que el verdadero camino a la salvación de Dios no es tener sangre judía, sino tener fe en Él.

           Hemos de admitir que, para algunos, el cristianismo es pura profesión sin práctica, como se definen muchos: “creyentes, pero no practicantes”.

           Debemos mantenernos en contacto con Jesús. Orar y leer la Palabra en las mañanas nos ayudará a enfrentar nuestra cotidianidad y nos fortalecerá espiritualmente. Permanecer en Cristo será una experiencia de constante contacto con él Señor. Es organizar la vida, la oración y el silencio para encontrarnos con Jesús.

 

Oración: Gracias Señor, porque Tú nos das la oportunidad cada mañana de poder entrar en comunión contigo. Enséñanos a no desperdiciar ese precioso tiempo de encuentro contigo y de permanecer siempre en Ti. Amén.
