October 15. Thursday
WE BELIEVE IN YOU, JESUS
Luke 11:47-54

Woe to you experts in the law! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.

Luke 11:52 NRSV

This passage is a strong warning against those who, having access to the knowledge of God, use it to close doors instead of opening them. We are called to be stewards of the true Word of God–not to monopolize it, much less restrict it–but to teach it and make it accessible to those who wish to walk the path of faith.
If the Word of God is obstructed or if we simply limit its study and its transforming power, then it ceases to be a light for our lives. Jesus invites us to examine our attitudes–what and how we teach, and whom we favor. May no self-glory or acquired wisdom make us better than others.
Let us give those around us the best we have. The opportunity for transformation and to accompany change toward the good. Today, our faith communities must open paths of formation, education, and faith for growth in the wisdom of God.
Prayer: Our Lord, you are the key that unlocks the doors of truth. Forgive our attitudes, and grant that we may ask to open ourselves to welcome, to teaching, and to your wisdom. Amen.

EN TI CREEMOS, JESÚS
LUCAS 11: 47- 54
