AND YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES

John 17:20-26

“I ask not only on behalf of these but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their word”

John 17:20

This wonderful passage reveals the universality of Jesus’ message. This prayer encompasses all Christians throughout history, and it includes us today as well. It reminds us that our faith and witness have an impact that transcends time and space. Every Christian is part of the body of Christ and has a vital purpose in God’s mission.

But to fulfill this purpose, unity is essential—not only for community life but also as a powerful witness to humanity. The way we love and support one another reflects the relationship between the Father and the Son. Unity does not imply uniformity, but rather a harmonious diversity centered on Christ. God’s love must be the foundation of our daily relationships, and it must flow through us, allowing others to see Christ through our actions. We have a responsibility to show the face of Jesus, not only through our words but also through our lives. This challenges us to live in a way that reflects God’s glory and grace.

Prayer:  Dear God, may we be a living testimony of Christ’s love, bringing his message to those who do not yet know Him. Amen.

Y ME SEREIS TESTIGOS

Juan 17:20-26

“No ruego solo por estos, sino también por los que han de creer en mí por la palabra de ellos.”

Este maravilloso texto nos muestra la universalidad del mensaje de Jesús. Esta oración abarca a todos los cristianos y cristianas a lo largo de la historia, y nos incluye también a nosotros hoy. Esto nos recuerda que nuestra fe y testimonio tienen un impacto que trasciende el tiempo y el espacio. Cada cristiano y cristiana es parte del cuerpo de Cristo y tiene un propósito vital en la misión de Dios.

Pero para cumplir este propósito es fundamental la unidad, no solo para la vida comunitaria, sino también como un poderoso testimonio a la humanidad. La forma en que nos amamos y apoyamos mutuamente refleja la relación entre el Padre y el Hijo. La unidad, no implica uniformidad, sino una diversidad armoniosa centrada en Cristo. El amor de Dios debe ser la base de nuestras relaciones cotidianas, y debe fluir en nosotros permitiendo que las demás personas vean a Cristo por medio de nuestras acciones. Tenemos la responsabilidad de mostrar el rostro de Jesús, no solo con nuestras palabras, sino también a través de nuestras vidas. Esto nos desafía a vivir de manera que reflejemos la gloria y la gracia de Dios.

Oración:  Buen Dios, que podamos ser un testimonio vivo del amor de Cristo, llevando su mensaje a quienes aún no le conocen. Amén.

SANCTIFICATION THROUGH THE WORD

John 17:11-19

“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”

John 17:17

In this passage we read, we see Jesus’ concern for the spiritual safety of his disciples. Although they’re constantly facing challenges and temptations, Jesus wants them to be protected. Jesus’ prayer for protection gives us confidence that God is with us in the midst of difficulties.

Jesus asks God to protect his disciples and sanctify them. In this process, God sets us apart and transforms us through his truth. The Word is essential for this to happen, for through it we come to know God’s will. Are we allowing God to mold us and make us more like Christ? This involves an active commitment to God’s mission and a willingness to serve others.

As we meditate on these truths, we can find encouragement, hope, and guidance to live out our faith with integrity and purpose. This passage offers us a profound glimpse into Jesus’ heart for his followers. At the same time, it reminds us of the need for divine protection and sanctification through the truth. It reveals our mission and our identity. As Christians, let us continue to seek peace and unity. Let us make God’s reign visible among us here and now.

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for your boundless love. We ask for your constant presence and the wisdom we need to continue building your kingdom. In your name, Amen.

LA SANTIFICACIÓN POR MEDIO DE LA PALABRA

Juan 17:11-19

“Santifícalos en tu verdad, tu palabra es verdad.”

En el texto leído vemos la preocupación de Jesús por la seguridad espiritual de sus discípulos. Aunque constantemente están enfrentando desafíos y tentaciones, Jesús quiere que sean protegidos. La oración de protección de Jesús nos da confianza en que Dios está con nosotros en medio de las dificultades.

Jesús pide que Dios proteja a sus discípulos y les santifique. En este proceso, Dios nos aparta y nos transforma por su verdad. La Palabra, es fundamental para que esto ocurra, pues mediante ella conocemos la voluntad de Dios.  ¿Estamos permitiendo que Dios nos moldee y nos haga más como Cristo? Esto implica un compromiso activo con la misión de Dios y una disposición para servir a los demás.

Al meditar en estas verdades, podemos encontrar aliento, esperanza, y dirección para vivir nuestra fe con integridad y propósito. Este pasaje nos ofrece una visión profunda del corazón de Jesús por sus seguidores. Al mismo tiempo, nos recuerda la necesidad de la protección divina y la santificación a través de la verdad. Nos muestra nuestra misión y nuestra identidad. Como cristianos y cristianas, continuemos buscando la paz y la unidad. Hagamos visible el reinado de Dios en medio nuestro aquí y ahora.

Oración: Gracias Jesús por tu amor inconmensurable. Pedimos tu compañía perenne y la sabiduría suficiente para continuar con la edificación del reino. En tu nombre, Amén.

PRAYER BRINGS US CLOSER TO GOD

John 17:1-11

“All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I have been glorified in them.”

 John 17:10

In this passage, we reflect on what’s known as “The High Priestly Prayer.” In it, Jesus reveals a deep relationship and intimacy with the Father, reminding us of what our relationship with God should be like. In moments of loneliness and despair, we can turn to God to seek that closeness, trusting that He hears us and answers our prayers at just the right moment.

Jesus prays for the protection of his disciples and asks that his followers be united as one. This shows us that unity in the Christian community is essential to being a true witness to God’s love and God’s glory extends to us through the life and work of Jesus. When we live in obedience and love, we reflect that glory in the world. Let us show others that we are not alone. We are part of a much greater plan: God’s redemptive work in our world.

Let us show that prayer is an effective tool for bringing hope, and that in it we can also find comfort and guidance in our lives. Let us deepen our relationship with God so that we may fulfill our mission as witnesses of the Gospel.

Prayer: Beloved God, grant that we may seek you in prayer and learn to live in unity and harmony. Amen.

LA ORACIÓN NOS ACERCA MÁS A DIOS

Juan 17:1-11

“Todo lo que tengo es tuyo, y todo lo que tú tienes es mío. Y en todo esto se muestra lo grande y poderoso que soy.”

 Juan 17:10

El pasaje en el que estaremos reflexionando es conocido como: “la Oración Sacerdotal.” Jesús muestra en ella una gran relación e intimidad con el Padre, lo que nos recuerda, cómo debe ser nuestra relación con Dios. En los momentos de soledad y desesperación, podemos acudir a Dios para buscar esa cercanía, con la confianza en que Él nos escucha y responde nuestras súplicas en el momento preciso.

Jesús ora por la protección de sus discípulos y pide que sus seguidores sean uno. Esto nos muestra que la unidad en la comunidad cristiana es fundamental para ser un testimonio certero del amor de Dios. La Gloria de Dios, se extiende a nosotros mediante la vida y obra de Jesús. Cuando vivimos en obediencia y amor, reflejamos esa Gloria en el mundo. Mostremos a las demás personas que no estamos solos, no estamos solas. Formamos parte de un plan mucho mayor, la obra redentora de Dios en nuestro mundo. Mostremos que la oración es una herramienta efectiva para brindar esperanza, y que en ella también podemos encontrar consuelo y dirección en nuestras vidas. Profundicemos nuestra relación con Dios para poder cumplir con nuestra misión como testigos del Evangelio.

Oración: Amado Dios, permite que podamos buscarte en la oración y aprendamos a vivir en unidad y armonía. Amén.
