Another Chance

John 3: 16-21

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

John 3:21 (NIV)

God’s love manifests itself in many ways. As a loved one, he wants the best for us. That is why he gave us a gift and sacrificed his son, Jesus. Believing in him, in Jesus, is not a punishment nor a condemnation, but rather, an invitation to being able to forgive us, to change and give us another chance.

We are human beings who constantly make mistakes and wrong decisions that lead us away from our ethics. However, God’s love is so immense that it invites us to correct ourselves, redeem ourselves, forgive ourselves and redesign our actions. God is a door to hope, the hope of seeing us become better people.

Prayer: Help us to be good people every day. May you mold the clay of our hearts. Allow us to offer ourselves and those around us an opportunity for forgiveness, reconciliation and transformation. May we not lack your grace. Amen.

Otra oportunidad

Juan 3. 16-21

Mas el que practica la verdad viene a la luz, para que sea manifiesto que sus obras son hechas en Dios.

Juan 3.21

El amor de Dios se manifiesta de muchas formas. Como un ser querido desea lo mejor para nosotros. Por eso nos regaló y sacrificó a su hijo Jesús. Creer en él, en Jesús no es un castigo ni una condena, sino una invitación a ser capaces de perdonarnos, de cambiar y darnos otra oportunidad.

Somos seres humanos que constantemente nos equivocamos y tomamos decisiones herradas que nos apartan de nuestra ética. Sin embargo el amor de Dios es tan inmenso que nos convida a corregirnos, redimirnos, perdonarnos y rediseñar nuestras acciones. Dios es una puerta a la esperanza, la esperanza de vernos convertidas y convertidos en mejores personas.

Oración: Ayúdanos a ser personas de bien cada día. Que tus moldeen el barro de nuestros corazones. Permite ofrecernos y ofrecer a quienes nos rodean una oportunidad al perdón, la reconciliación y la transformación. Que tu gracia no nos falte. Amén.

The Answer

John 21: 15-19

The third time he said to him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”

John 21:17 (NIV)

Peter and the disciples had returned to their daily activities. Jesus appeared to them on the shore of the sea of Galilee, and after an unsuccessful fishing trip, Jesus tells them where to cast the net. Then while sharing a meal together, he turns to Peter and asks him surely one of the most important questions of his life, “Do you love me more than these?” He repeats the question in different tones, and by the third time Peter is frustrated, which was not Jesus’ intention. It was rather that Peter would understand the depth of his call, and the integrity of his love. We can also get frustrated at times with questions or situations that come up along the road, and we question ourselves personally. The path will always be good if we all respond with “action” from love, for life.

Prayer: Beloved Jesus, thank you for the questions along the way that move us to look inside ourselves. Spirit of God, continue working in every person to serve those around us with love. Amen.

La respuesta.

Juan 21. 15-19

Le dijo la tercera vez: Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas? Pedro se entristeció de que le dijese la tercera vez: ¿Me amas? y le respondió: Señor, tú lo sabes todo; tú sabes que te amo. Jesús le dijo: Apacienta mis ovejas.

Juan 21.17

Pedro y los discípulos habían regresado a sus actividades cotidianas, Jesús se les apareció en el orilla del mar de Galilea, y después de una noche infructuosa de pesca, Jesús les dice donde echar la red. Luego mientras compartían una comida juntos, se dirige a Pedro y le hace, con seguridad una de las preguntas más importantes de su vida ¿me amas más que estos? La pregunta la repite en tonos diferentes, ya para la tercera vez Pedro se siente frustrado, cual no era la intención de Jesús sino que comprendiera la profundidad de su llamado; y la integridad de su amor. En ocasiones también nos podemos frustramos ante preguntas, situaciones que nos salen al camino y nos cuestionamos personalmente. El camino siempre será bueno si todas y todos respondemos con “acción” desde el amor, para la vida.

Oración: Amado Jesús gracias por las preguntas en el camino que nos mueven a mirarnos por dentro. Espíritu de Dios, continúa obrando en cada persona para servir desde el amor a quienes nos rodean. Amén.

His Love Comforts Us

Matthew 8:5-17

He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.

Matthew 8:17 (NIV)

Many are the times we have come to God for help and comfort, in search of that comfort and longing for that warmth. There have been many times when we have asked him to take away our ailments or the ailments of those around us. There are times when we feel tired or weary and we pray, talking to him of our sorrows, so that in the end we feel better in some way. When we confess to him all that afflicts us, we tell him our fears, those that would be the demons that haunt us, so that again, at the end we feel renewed. How many things do not change for the better when we share them, when we name them or say them out loud? It is good to keep in mind and remember that he will always listen to us and comfort us, that he will guide us along better paths and provide us with solutions to our problems.

Prayer: Lord, may your word give us comfort and strengthen us. May you be our confidant, our safe place. For to you we owe what we are, what we were and what we will be. Amen.

Su amor nos reconforta

Mateo 8.5-17

El mismo tomó nuestras enfermedades, y llevó nuestras dolencias.

 

Muchas son las veces que venimos a Dios en busca de ayuda y consuelo, en busca de ese confort y anhelando esa calidez.  No han sido pocas las ocasiones en las que hemos pedido que él se lleve nuestras dolencias o las dolencias de aquellos que nos rodean. Veces en las que nos sentimos cansados o cansadas y oramos, hablamos con el contándole nuestros pesares para al finalizar sentirnos mejor de alguna manera. Cuando le confesamos a él todo eso que nos aflige, le contamos nuestros miedos, aquellos que serían los demonios que nos acechan, al terminar nos sentimos renovados, renovadas. Cuantas cosas no cambian cuando las compartimos, cuando les ponemos nombres o las decimos en alta voz. Es bueno tener presente y recordar que él siempre nos va a escuchar y a reconfortar, que nos guiará por mejores caminos y nos brindará soluciones para nuestros problemas.

Oración: Señor, que tu palabra nos reconforte, nos fortalezca, que tu seas nuestro confidente, nuestro lugar seguro. Porque a ti debemos lo que somos, lo que fuimos y lo que seremos.  Amén.
