IN THE BOSOM OF THE FAMILY

MARK 9: 40-41

Then the king will reply to them, “I assure you that when you have done it for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have one it for me.”

Matthew 25:40 (CEB)

            When difficulties arrive, most of us selfishly put the resolution of our personal needs and those close to us above all else. The idea of family shrinks to just those very close to us.

             It is then the moment when we forget those left outside that small nucleus and the need of the other is unknown. We set aside the least close that go through tribulations:  the old man who requires companionship, or even a simple greeting, to the sick person who claims our help, to the child who wishes to have his toy repaired, and all the great little things that we can overlook if we are far from God, if in our hearts does not burn the love that exists of Him and for Him.

            What are we when we do not know we belong to the great human family?

 

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, when selfishness preys on us, taking care only of our problems, make us see how wrong we are. Help us see in all those in need, part of us, and see You in them as well. Amen.

EN EL SENO DE LA FAMILIA

MARCOS 9: 40-41

De cierto les digo, todo lo que hicieron por uno de mis hermanos más pequeños, por mí lo hicieron

Mateo 25:40

            Cuando las dificultades hacen su arribo, la mayoría de las personas hacemos acopio de egoísmo y ponemos por encima de todo la resolución  de nuestras necesidades personales que se extienden a un número limitado de afectos cercanos, cercanísimos por lo general. La idea de la familia se reduce.

            Es entonces el momento en que nos olvidamos de los que quedan fuera de ese pequeño núcleo y se pasa a desconocer la necesidad del otro. Dejamos a un lado al menos allegado que pasa por tribulaciones: al anciano que requiere compañía, o hasta de un simple saludo, al enfermo que reclama nuestro auxilio, al niño que desea se le repare su juguete, y todas las pequeñas grandes cosas que podemos pasar por alto si estamos lejos de Dios, si en nuestros corazones no arde el amor que de Él y por Él existe.

            ¿Qué somos cuándo desconocemos nuestra pertenencia a la gran familia humana?

 

Oración: Amado Padre Celestial, cuando el egoísmo haga presa de nosotros, ocupándonos solamente de nuestros problemas, haznos ver lo equivocado que estamos. Ayúdanos a ver en todos los necesitados, parte de nosotros, y a verte también a Ti en ellos. Amén.

WE NEED YOUR SALVATION NOW

Psalm  85: 1-5

Restore us again, O God of our salvation…

Psalm 85:4 (NRSV)

            The Lord has been good to his people and to all the human beings who have decided to believe in him. The God who changed the fate of his people and illuminated their lives with hope, the God shown in the psalms is the God who  has continued to give away his salvation and who has accompanied us to this day. Great is his faithfulness and his mercy is forever.

Let’s not let fears, despair and daily problems overwhelm our spirituality, and trust in our God. Let’s have the security that God accompanies us in our daily cares.  Let us invoke his presence every morning; give our sacrifices and efforts to solve our problems to his will, and the Lord will respond more than to our material and spiritual needs. Perhaps it won’t happen in the time we desire, but in the perfect time that God has for everything, because everything has its time

 

Prayer: Lord of the times, today we ask you to give us your salvation, to save us from despair, uncertainties, fears, insecurities. Fill us with the firmness that we can all have in Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Show your goodness in all creation, Lord. Forgive our faults and bless us on this day and always. Amen.

AHORA NECESITAMOS TU SALVACION

Salmo  85: 1-5

Dios y Salvador nuestro, sálvanos también ahora…

Salmo 85:4

            El Señor ha sido bueno con su pueblo y con todos los seres humanos que han decidido creer en él. El Dios que cambió la suerte de su pueblo e iluminó sus vidas de esperanza, el Dios que se muestra en los salmos, es el Dios que ha seguido regalando su salvación y que nos ha acompañado hasta hoy. Porque grande es su fidelidad y para siempre su misericordia.

            No dejemos que los miedos y la desesperación y los problemas diarios agobien nuestra espiritualidad y confianza en nuestro Dios. Tengamos la seguridad de que Dios nos acompaña en los afanes diarios. Invoquemos cada mañana su presencia, entreguemos a su voluntad nuestros esfuerzos y sacrificios por resolver nuestros problemas, y el Señor responderá con creces a nuestras necesidades materiales y espirituales. Tal vez no en el tiempo que deseamos, pero sí en el tiempo perfecto que Dios dispone para cada cosa. Porque todo tiene su tiempo.

 

Oración: Señor de los tiempos, hoy te pedimos que nos regales tu salvación, que nos salves de la desesperación, las incertidumbres, los miedos, las inseguridades. Llénanos de la firmeza de que todo lo podemos en Cristo Jesús que nos fortalece. Muestra tu bondad con tu creación toda, Señor. Perdona nuestras faltas y bendícenos en este día y siempre. Amén.

THANKS, LORD, FOR YOUR WORD

Isaiah 40: 1-11

The grass dries up; the flower withers, but our God’s word will exist forever.

Isaiah 40:8 (CEB)

            Bible passages and verses sustain and accompany our faith. The word contained in the scriptures becomes the word of God when it becomes a word of life, and when we put it into practice in our actions and thoughts. Undoubtedly the word of God has transcended the times. Its permanence and power accompany God's plans for his people and for all mankind. To look at our reality in the light of the scriptures is to discover the word of God in our day and time. God always speaks to us through the texts; he always has something to teach us. So, let’s not let the Bibles become impoverished.  Let’s not leave our devotional time only to our reflections of this magazine, His Voice. When we manage to take the Bible in with our hearts and minds open and willing to listen to God, his message is all our spirit needs to understand the reality of our time and to see the way forward. 

 

Prayer: Thank you Lord for keeping your message hopeful and renewing through your Word. Fill us with wisdom to stand firm in our faith in the midst of the difficult situations we have had to live. We ask you in the name of the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Día de la lucha contra el SIDA

GRACIAS SEÑOR POR TU PALABRA

Isaias 40: 1-11

La hierba se seca y la flor se marchita, pero la palabra de nuestro Dios permanece firme para siempre.

Isaías 40:8

            Pasajes y versículos bíblicos sustentan y acompañan nuestra fe. La palabra contenida en las Escrituras se convierte en palabra de Dios cuando se convierte en palabra de vida, y lo es cuando la ponemos en práctica en nuestros actos y pensamientos. Sin duda alguna la palabra de Dios ha trascendido los tiempos, su permanencia y poder acompañan los planes de Dios para su pueblo y para toda la humanidad. Mirar nuestra realidad a luz de las Escrituras, es descubrir la palabra de Dios en nuestro hoy y ahora. Siempre Dios nos habla a través de los textos, siempre tiene algo que enseñarnos. Por lo tanto, no dejemos que las Biblias se empolven, no dejemos nuestro tiempo devocional solo a nuestras reflexiones de esta revista Su Voz, porque mucho hay entre líneas por leer, aprender y desaprender de las Sagradas Escrituras. Y cuando logramos adentrarnos en ella con los corazones y las mentes abiertas y dispuestas a escuchar a Dios, su mensaje es todo lo que necesita nuestro espíritu para entender la realidad de nuestro tiempo y para ver el camino a seguir. 

 

Oración: Gracias Señor por mantener tu mensaje esperanzador y renovador a través de tu Palabra. Llénanos de sabiduría para mantenernos firmes en nuestra fe en medio de las situaciones difíciles que nos ha tocado vivir. Te lo pedimos en el nombre de la palabra hecha carne, Jesucristo, Amén.
