REAL ENCOUNTER

Luke 24: 13-25

Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.

Luke 24:31(NRSV)

A familiar journey, but always new. The travelers to Emmaus knew everything that had happened in Jerusalem and even in Israel, they knew what was said about the resurrection of Jesus, a powerful prophet in works and words. For all that had gone before, all this time they had not had a real encounter with Jesus.

Those who know about Jesus, but whose fruits are not of love, witness and service, have not had a real encounter with Him. Like the travelers to Emmaus, they know about Jesus, but their hearts do not burn with the fire of faith. Every day the Lord travels with us; we must go to encounter him.

As soon as they recognized the Lord and even though it was already night, those from Emmaus returned to tell of their encounter with the Risen Lord. That’s the attitude: telling how much God has done with us, giving others the opportunity to know about God’s love.

 

Prayer: Lord, work in us so that we may return and tell everyone about the Love of Jesus Christ. In his name we pray, Amen.

TESTIGOS DE LA RESURRECCIÓN.

Lucas 24:35-48

 

Qué se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y el perdón de pecados en todas las naciones, comenzando desde Jerusalén.

Lucas 24:18

Ser testigos de una boda o padrinos en un bautizo, es una invitación linda para cualquiera, pero trae compromisos, responsabilidades.

Jesucristo da este honor a sus discípulos, ser testigos de su vida, muerte y resurrección, compromiso: predicar a todas las naciones, empezando por Jerusalén. Allí donde apedrearon a los profetas y le crucificaron a Él, ese sería el comienzo de esta misión sagrada, pues habían sido llamados por el mismo Señor para ser testigos.

Ahora, en medio de este mundo.  lleno de retos e inseguridades, nosotros somos herederos de ese llamado, formamos parte de esa nube de testigos que continuó la obra del Evangelio. Nos toca compartir lo que hemos visto, oído, y lo que sentimos, compartir cuánto Cristo hace por nosotros, cómo nos anima en el cansancio y nos fortalece en la prueba.  El Señor resucitó para ser nuestro Salvador y seguimos en el Camino, testificando y sirviendo en su nombre.

 

Oración: Gracias Dios porque tú nos llenas cada día con tu amor. Amén.

WHERE IS THE LORD?

John 20: 11-18

Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her.

John 20:18 (NRSV)

In front of the empty tomb Mary Magdalene suffered and agonized. Jesus, in the face of his friend’s pain, came to meet her and said, “I am here, Mary.”

At times it happens to us when facing painful events we think, where is our Lord?

We should not seek Jesus in a tomb, nor in catastrophies, or in inhuman warfare, general violence, nor oppressors of the peoples, or those who are silent in fave of suffering and injustice. He is in those who heal, the first responders in disasters and wars, those who care for the elderly and children, in those who share everything they have, in those who announce paths of Hope and Dignity, and proclaim their Kingdom of Justice.

Let’s not seek him in dark tombs because He lives forever. Alleluia!

 

Prayer: Thank you God, for you live and reign. Amen.

¿DÓNDE ESTÁ EL SEÑOR?

Juan 20: 11-18

Fue entonces María Magdalena para dar a los discípulos las nuevas de que había visto al Señor, y que él había dicho estas cosas.

Juan 20:18

Ante el sepulcro vacío, María Magdalena sufre, y se angustia.  Jesús, ante el dolor de su amiga sale a su encuentro y le dice: Aquí estoy María

A nosotros nos pasa a veces, ante hechos dolorosos pensamos, ¿dónde está nuestro Señor?

A Jesucristo no lo busquemos en un sepulcro, ni en las catástrofes, o en las guerras inhumanas, violencias de género, ni en opresores de los pueblos, o que callan ante el sufrimiento o la injusticia.  A Jesús hay que buscarlo Vivo y Misericordioso, Él está en los ríos, mares, el Sol, el aire, los campos de cultivos.  Está en los que sanan, los socorristas en desastres y guerras, los que cuidan ancianos y niños, en los que comparten todo lo que tienen, en los que anuncian caminos de Esperanza y Dignidad, y proclaman su Reino de Justicia.

No lo busquemos en sepulcros oscuros, porque Él vive para siempre, ¡Aleluya!

 

Oración: Gracias Dios, porque tú vives y reinas. Amén.

THE WONDERFUL NEWS

Matthew 28: 8-15

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers . . . .”

Matthew 28 :10a. (NRSV)

Wonderful news, the best of all for the followers of Jesus, who, hidden and sad, remembered the days of joy when they walked with Him and all the anguish of His unjust death.

“He is Risen!” Was the shout of the women. And immediately everything changed; the expectation and the memory of his words filled all the space of their minds and hearts.

The lie created by the Romans and Jews was worthless. The truth of the Resurrection of Jesus gave impetus to the greatest movement of all times: the revelation to the world of the Gospel of Jesus, salvation by faith.

The women proclaimed, “He has risen!” Joy abounds in our midst. He is raised in order to accompany the Church in its labor of salvation and service. His Spirit is manifest every day in us.

After a week of pain and three days of silence, He is alive forever.

 

Prayer: Eternal God, as you show yourself every day, give us eyes and a heart to receive your presence with the joy of Faith and Love. Renew us, O God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

LA GRAN NOTICIA

Mateo 28: 8-15

Entonces Jesús les dijo: no teman.  Id a dar las nuevas a mis hermanos.

Mateo 28 :10a.

Una maravillosa noticia, la mejor de todas para los seguidores de Jesús, que escondidos y tristes recordaban los días de alegrías cuando caminaban con Él y todo lo angustioso de su injusta muerte.

¡Ha Resucitado! fue el grito de las mujeres. Y de repente todo cambió, la expectativa, el recuerdo de sus palabras llenó el espacio de sus mentes y corazones.

De nada sirvió la mentira creada por los romanos y judíos. La verdad de la Resurrección de Jesús dió inicio al movimiento más grande de todas las épocas: la revelación al mundo del Evangelio de Jesús, la salvación por la Fe.

Las mujeres lo proclamaron ¡Ha resucitado!  Hay gozo en nosotros.  Él resucitó para acompañar a la Iglesia en su labor de salvación y servicio. Su Espíritu se manifiesta cada día en nosotros.

Luego de una semana de dolor y tres días de silencio. Él vive para siempre.

 

Oración: Dios Eterno, que te manifiestas cada día, danos ojos y corazón para recibir tu presencia con el gozo de la Fe y el Amor. Renuévanos oh Dios. En Jesús Amén.
