AFTER DEATH

John 3:12-21

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done

has been done in the sight of God. (NIV)

John: 3: 21

            The word “light” appears 386 times in the Bible. In the New Testament, and in a symbolic sense in general, there exist countless documented materials, books, and articles concerning near-death experiences, attempting to discover what happens when someone dies. God  gives little evidence about what happens when a patient is in coma and then returns to life to speak of it.

            The interesting thing is that they see themselves above their own body, as if floating, and they hear and see what’s occurring in general. They see a dark tunnel and a loving Light, from which no one would want to detach. After returning to the body they are no longer afraid of death.

            As believers, by practicing the truth here on earth, we will be reflecting to others the light of hope, faith, and love, not the darkness of hopelessness, unbelief and heartbreak. We have a unique opportunity to become fireflies for the many who walk blindly amidst uncertainties, helplessness and irreconcilable situations.

 

Prayer: Thank you for the eternal light that you have given us in Christ to illuminate our paths and share with others to show that our actions are your works. In his name we pray. Amen.

DESPUES DE LA MUERTE

Juan 3:12-21

Pero el que practica la verdad viene a la luz, para que sus acciones sean manifestadas que han sido hechas en Dios

Juan: 3: 21

            La palabra luz aparece 386 veces en la Biblia. En el Nuevo Testamento en un sentido simbólico en general. Existen incontables materiales documentales, libros, artículos sobre experiencias cercanas a la muerte, intentando descubrir lo que pasa cuando alguien fallece. Dios esta dando limitadas evidencias de lo que sucede cuando un paciente está en coma y vuelve a la vida para narrarlo.

            Lo interesante es que se ven encima de su propio cuerpo, como flotando, y escuchan y ven lo que está ocurriendo, por lo general ven un túnel obscuro y una LUZ amorosa de la cual nadie se querría despegar. Después que se logra volver al cuerpo, no se le teme más a la muerte.

            Como creyentes, al practicar la verdad aquí en la tierra, estaremos reflejando a otros luz de esperanza, fe y amor, no obscuridad de desesperanza, increencia y desamor. Tenemos una oportunidad única de convertirnos en luciérnagas para muchos que caminan a ciegas en medio de las incertidumbres, impotencias y situaciones irreconciliables.

 

Oración: Gracias por la luz eterna que nos has regalado en Cristo para alumbrar nuestros caminos y compartirla con otros para así mostrar que nuestras acciones son tus obras. En su nombre lo rogamos. Amén.
