SHREWDNESS OR WISDOM?
Luke 16:1-8
And his master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly,
Luke 16:8ª (NRSV)
Shrewdness is a skill that we don’t always use for good. Often, acting shrewdly means taking advantage of situations, harming others, finding loopholes to avoid the consequences of wrongdoing, or hiding our true intentions. Most of the time, acting with shrewdness has the sole purpose of obtaining some personal benefit.
We must be on guard against the “shrewdness” of people who lead us down paths that stray us from the ethics by which we should act as human beings and Christians.
In the face of shrewdness, we must act with wisdom, the wisdom that comes from God, the wisdom that leads us to act correctly, the wisdom that invites us to respect and protect the integrity of every human being, the wisdom that helps us see others not as a means to our own benefit, but as the focus of our love, care, and kindness.
Acting with shrewdness may offer you momentary personal benefits, but acting with wisdom leads you to a fuller life and brings you closer to Jesus Christ.
Prayer: God of wisdom, guide our steps, enlighten our decisions, and enable us to always act in accordance with your teachings. Amen.

¿ASTUCIA O SABIDURÍA?
LUCAS 16:1-8
