I WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU

PSALM 23:4

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”     Matthew 28:20

The pastor of a small rural church proposed doing a cantata for the church’s anniversary and invited the choir of the nearest town. The townsfolk did not wait until the day of the celebration in order to begin enjoying the singing, as they attended all of the rehearsals. During the concert, the choir began to sing a song titled “I am with you”.  Everyone heard the message from the beginning and later, even years later on the same date, children and adults recalled it and would hum the pretty tune.  This beautiful hymn contained the words that Jesus spoke to his disciples just before his ascension—“I am with you always”—Today, as at that concert, we offer you the promise of God contained within the verses of this beautiful hymn:

Beneath the sun, beneath the shade,

I am with you,

wherever you may go.  

Wherever you may find yourself today,

You are not alone.

If you’ve placed your trust in Jesus

For your eternal salvation,

You can be certain

That He will never forsake you.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the beautiful promise of your constant presence throughout all the episodes of our lives. Amen.

“Yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo” Mateo 28:20

El pastor de una pequeña iglesia rural propuso hacer una cantata en el aniversario de la iglesia e invitó al coro del pueblo más cercano. Los habitantes del lugar no esperaron el día programado para comenzar a disfrutar de los cantos, pues presenciaban todos

los ensayos. Durante el concierto el coro entonó un canto que se titulaba «Yo estoy con vosotros». Todos captaron el mensaje desde el inicio y luego, aún pasados los años en la misma fecha, niños y adultos lo recordaban y tarareaban la bella letra. Este hermoso himno contenían las palabras de Jesús a sus discípulos justo antes de su ascensión —«Yo estoy con vosotros todos los días»— Hoy, como en aquel concierto, les regalamos la promesa de Dios contenida en los versos de este bello himno:

«Bajo el sol, en la sombra,

Yo estoy con vosotros

Donde quiera que vayáis»

Dondequiera que sea

que te encuentres hoy,

no estás solo.

Si has colocado tu confianza en Jesús

para tu salvación eterna,

puedes tener la certeza

de que Él nunca te dejará.

Oración: Señor, gracias por la linda promesa de tu constante presencia en todos los episodios de nuestra vida. Amén
