QUESTION WITH AN ANSWER
JOHN
1:43-51
“Nazareth!
Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,’” said Philip.
John 1:46
Nathanael’s question continues to resonate two thousand years later: “Can
anything good come from Nazareth? … Come and see.”
Come and see changed lives:
The alcoholic is sober;
The embittered person has joy;
The person deserving humiliation has been
forgiven;
Marriages are restored, orphans are adopted,
Prisoners are rehabilitated.
We are at times quick to judge and to criticize,
but slow and mistrustful before the transformation that God produces in the
human heart.
Come and see how the hand of God touches the
humblest heart, dries the tears of the wrinkled face and forgives the most
horrendous sin.
Come and see.
He does not evade the person who seeks.
He does not ignore the person who investigates. Do not be afraid. Come and see.
Prayer: Lord, allow us to trust in every good thing that you are doing in the
lives of people; grant that we not judge based on appearances and that
something good would come from each of our churches. Amen.
UNA PREGUNTA CON RESPUESTA
JUAN 1:43-51
“Natanael le dijo a Felipe: ¿De Nazaret puede salir
algo de bueno? Le dijo Felipe: Ven y
ve.”
Juan 1:46
La pregunta de Natanael
sigue resonando al cabo de dos mil años : “¿Puede de Nazaret salir algo
bueno?... Ven y ve.”
Ven
y ve las vidas cambiadas:
El
alcohólico esta sobrio,
El
amargado tiene gozo,
El
digno de humillación ha recibido perdón,
Matrimonios
restaurados, huérfanos adoptados,
Prisioneros
rehabilitados.
En
ocasiones somos ágiles para juzgar y criticar, pero lentos y recelosos ante la
transformación que Dios realiza en el corazón humano.
Ven
y ve como la mano de Dios toca el corazón más humilde, enjuga las lágrimas del rostro arrugado y perdona el
pecado más horrendo.
Ven
y ve. Él no evade al que busca. No ignora al que investiga. No teme. Ven y ve.
Oración:
Permite Señor, que confiamos en todo lo bueno que tú estás haciendo en la vida
de las personas, permite que no juzguemos por las apariencias y que de cada una
de nuestras iglesias pueda salir algo bueno. Amén.
