FATHER, GLORIFY YOUR NAME
JOHN 12:27-36
Father,
glorify your name!
Then
a voice came from heaven,

have glorified it
and
will glorify it again.” (NIV)

In life one has to do things in a timely manner, or they’ll
be much harder to accomplish later. We often encounter situations in which
death is presented as a possibility of transcendence. There are many examples
of people-even unknowingly-who’ve transcended because of their testimony of
sacrifice.
There were numerous detractors of our José Martí, whom they
accused of causing a war without being on the battlefield. However, his
sacrifices were great. Even to the point of giving his own life in service to
the country.
Joan of Arc, the French heroine at the head of an army, conquered
Orleans, and after many other battles decided to march on Paris. But, on being
betrayed, she was made prisoner and condemned to the stake.
Jesus must have been glorified. The way was that of the
cross. The price: crucifixion. Since then no one has been able to remove him
from the hearts of millions of men and women. There’s no exit; the way of
sacrifice, at whatever level, will always be the way of glory. Don’t reject
what is offered you and accept the sacrifice. Let’s put aside our apathy and
lack of commitment. On following the way of the cross, let’s not look backwards;
and like Jesus, may we each day express, “Father, glorify your name.”
Prayer: Thanks, we give you Lord, for the opportunity to travel the
way of sacrifice and attain your work. Amen.

En
la vida hay que hacer las cosas a tiempo
o serán mucho más difíciles de realizar después. No pocas veces encontramos
situaciones en las cuales la muerte se presenta como posibilidad de
trascendencia. Muchos son los ejemplos de personas que trascendieron por su
testimonio de sacrificio, aún sin proponérselo.
No
fueron pocos los detractores de nuestro Joséé Martí, al cual acusaban de
estimular una guerra sin haber estado en el campo de batalla. Sin embargo,
muchos fueron sus sacrificios y desvelos hasta entregar su propia vida al
servicio de la patria. Juana de Arcos, la heroína francesa al mando de un
ejército, realizó la conquista de Orleáns y después de otras muchas batallas
decidió marchar sobre Paris. Pero al ser traicionada fue hecha prisionera y
condenada a la hoguera.
Jesús
debió ser glorificado, el camino era el de la cruz, el precio: la crucifixión.
No rechaza lo que se le ofrece y acepta el sacrificio. Desde entonces nadie ha
podido sacarlo del corazón de millones de mujeres y hombres. No hay salida, el
camino del sacrificio a cualquier nivel, será siempre el camino de la gloria.
Dejemos a un lado nuestras apatías y falta de compromiso. No nos echemos hacia
atrás al seguir el camino de la cruz ¡Qué podamos expresar cada día como Jesús:
Padre, glorifica tu nombre
Oración: Gracias te damos Señor, por la oportunidad de
transitar por el camino del sacrificio y alcanzar tu obra. Amén.
