ETERNITY IN THE HEART
ECCLESIASTES 3:1-15
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

We live in a world filled with stress. 

How often do we hear someone say: “My heart is tired and sick.”   And such a thing is not only true with regard to the organ to which it refers. We also use the term “heart” in the spiritual sense.  The miserable condition of the human spirit is portrayed by the prophet Isaiah with immortal brushstrokes: “Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness—only wounds and welts and open sores…” (Isaiah 1:5-6)

But within that afflicted and sinful heart the Lord has set the glory of his eternity. What a hopeful message! Instead of sickness or pain, He has set his own eternal essence, affinity towards Himself, the capacity to know, love, serve and honor one’s Creator.  The human heart can be filled with God. It can be indwelled by the Eternal One.  No matter how old we are, the Christian spirit does not age once it is filled by the Lord with his glorious eternity.

Prayer: Lord, set love within us and enable us to show it to the world. Amen

ETERNIDAD EN EL CORAZÓN

ECLESIASTES 3:1-15

“Todo lo hizo hermoso en su tiempo; y ha puesto eternidad en el corazón de ellos, sin que alcance el hombre a entender la obra que ha hecho Dios desde el principio hasta el fin”

Eclesiastés 3:11

Vivimos en un mundo lleno de tensiones.

Con cuánta frecuencia oímos decir: “Mi corazón está cansado y enfermo”. Y tal cosa no es solamente cierta en cuanto al órgano cordial se refiere. También a lo que llamamos corazón en sentido espiritual. La miserable condición del espíritu humano la retrata el profeta Isaías con inmortales pinceladas. “Todo corazón está  doliente. Desde la planta del pie hasta la cabeza no hay  en él cosa sana, sino heridas, hinchazón y podrida llaga” (Isaías 1:5-6)

Pero en ese afligido y  pecador  corazón ha puesto el Señor la gloria de su eternidad. ¡Qué afirmación más esperanzadora! No ha puesto enfermedad ni dolor, ha puesto de su misma esencia eterna, ha puesto afinidad hacia Él, capacidad de conocer, amar y servir y honrar a su Creador. El corazón humano se puede llenar de Dios. Puede ser morada del Eterno. No importa los años que tengamos pues el espíritu cristiano no envejece al llenarlo el Señor de su gloriosa eternidad.

Oración: Señor, pon en nosotros amor, y permítenos mostrarlo al mundo. Amén.
