Our community had a birthday celebration
for its oldest member: her 104th! During the course of the party,
someone congratulated the centenarian for her advanced age and asked her to
what she attributed her longevity. “God has forgotten about me and left me
behind on earth!” she replied. This was only meant to be an amusing
response to make us laugh, since we know that God never loses sight of a single
one of his creatures. He forms the hearts of each of us, is attentive to our
needs, and chooses the moment to call us into his presence.
However, it would be interesting to ask ourselves: Have you forgotten about God? We often feel discouraged because we do not receive an answer [to our prayer]. When a time of testing arrives, and each time that worry reappears in our minds, let us say to the Lord: “I am in your hands and under your will.”
Prayer: Lord, help me to take advantage of each opportunity to do your will and to be a messenger of your love to others. Amen.

En cierta
ocasión se festejó el cumpleaños de la persona más anciana de la comunidad:
¡104 años! En el transcurso de la ceremonia, alguien felicitó a la centenaria
por su edad avanzada y le preguntó a qué causa lo atribuía. “ ¡Dios se olvidó
de mí y me dejó en la tierra!”, contestó ella. Esta fue sólo una respuesta
graciosa que nos hace reír pues sabemos que Dios, no pierde de vista a ninguna
de sus criaturas. Él forma los corazones de todos nosotros, atento está a nuestras necesidades, y elige el
momento para llamarnos a su presencia
Ahora, sería interesante
preguntarnos: ¿Te olvidaste tú de Dios? A menudo nos sentimos desalentados
porque no recibimos respuesta.
Cuando llegue la prueba, cada vez que una preocupación reaparezca en nuestras mentes , digamos
al Señor: “en tus manos estoy y bajo tu voluntad”
Oración: Señor,
permíteme aprovechar cada oportunidad de hacer tu voluntad y de ser mensajeros
de tu amor con los demás. Amén.
