CARING FOR OUR HOME
GENESIS 1:28
“We know that the whole creation has been groaning…”
Romans 8:22a
Human beings have the dutiful function of
exercising dominance over the world that God has created. The final act of creation was to place the
administration and development and care of the earth into human hands. To be fruitful, to multiply, to fill the earth;
these tasks precisely depict the process of the human race’s historical
construction.
Salvation and our life experience are
connected to the environment in which we live and of which we take part. From
this stems the importance of responsibly exercising the administration of the
created world, and of learning to cohabitate with the earth, the plants, the animals,
and everything that has life. Don’t
forget that “nature creates great works without expecting anything in return.”
Prayer: Creator God, give us the grace to care for and respect your
creation, as well as to recognize the holiness of all the creatures created by
you, as marvelous signs of your love, Amen.

este mundo
se queja y sufre de
dolor…”

El ser humano tiene la
función de ejercer la mayordomía del mundo que Dios ha creado y que, al final,
es entregado para la administración que el ser humano tiene que desarrollar. El
fructificarse, el multiplicarse, el llenar la tierra nos habla precisamente de
todo el proceso de la construcción histórica del ser humano.
La salvación y nuestra
experiencia tienen que ver con el medio ambiente en el cual vivimos y del cual
somos parte. De aquí la importancia que tiene que ejerzamos con responsabilidad
la administración del mundo creado, y que aprendamos a convivir con la tierra,
las plantas, los animales y todo cuanto existe. No olvides que “la naturaleza
hace grandes obras sin esperar recompensa alguna”.
Oración: Dios creador, concédenos
gracia para cuidar y respetar tu creación, así como reconocer la santidad de
todas las criaturas creadas por ti, como señales maravillosas de tu amor. Amén.
