THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE
1 JOHN 4:15-21
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love
drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in
love.”
1 John 4:18
“Do not be
afraid,” was the first message. The
announcement that the angels made to the world about the coming of the Savior
begins with these words.
“Do not be afraid,” is the recommendation that Jehovah gives to
Joshua when He placed the responsibility of guiding his people in his
hands. “I will not be afraid,” says
the psalmist, “because I know that you
are with me.”
“Do
not be afraid” was the
expression that lifted the spirits of the exhausted disciples after having
battled all night with the turbulent waters of the Sea of Galilee. The entrance
of the Savior into the world is announced by the message “Do not be afraid”. His
departure from this world also has the message not to fear. A life that is based upon and sustained by the
love of God cannot be frightened away nor derailed by anything or anyone from
the pathway set by Him, because in every circumstance of that life the
Creator’s voice is heard: “Do not be afraid”.
Prayer: Lord, fill me with the courage to live by
moving forward upon your pathways. Amen.
EN EL AMOR NO HAY TEMOR
1 JUAN 4:15-21
“En el amor no hay temor, sino
que el perfecto amor eche fuera el temor, porque el temor lleva en sí castigo.
De donde el que no teme no ha sido perfeccionado en el amor”
1 Juan 4:18
“No temáis” este fue el primer
mensaje. El anuncio que los ángeles hicieron al mundo acerca de la venida del
Salvador se inicia con estas dos palabras.
“No temáis” es la recomendación que da
Yahvé a Josué al poner en sus manos la responsabilidad de guiar a su pueblo. “No
temeré” dice el salmista, “porque sé que tú estás conmigo”
“No temáis” fue la expresión que levantó el
ánimo a los discípulos extenuados por la fatiga después de luchar toda la noche
con las aguas embravecidas del mar de Galilea. La entrada del Salvador al mundo
se saluda con la expresión: “No temáis”
Su salida del mundo lleva también la recomendación
de no temer. Una vida fundada y sostenida por el amor de Dios nada ni nadie la
puede amedrentar o desviar del camino señalado por Él, porque en cada circunstancia de su vida oye la voz del
Creador: “No temáis”
Oración: Señor, infúndeme valor
para vivir avanzando en tus caminos. Amén.
