LET US APPROACH HIM

HEBREWS 4

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16

Having faith in someone implies being able to approach that person with confidence.  If we confidently approach God, he will help us. We often become desperate to ask for God’s help before we truly need it. But God always offers help at the right time.  Therefore, having faith also implies being pertinent, knowing how to ask of God, knowing how to confidently approach his throne of grace.  We should be encouraged by the conviction that our personal needs are not unique. Our neighbors (i.e. our community, our country, our world, our friends, our enemies…) need our prayers to God so that He will fully enlighten them.

We gain immense satisfaction when we have the sensibility to ask, not only for our needs and the needs of those closest to us, but rather for all those who really need the help of God.  We can be vehicles for God’s mercy, his grace, and his help.  Let us place ourselves in his hands.

Prayer : Oh God, give me your help in my time of need, that we may be the way to your grace and your mercy. Through Jesus. Amen.

ACERQUÉMONOS A ÉL

HEBREOS 4

“Lleguémonos, pues, confiadamente al trono

de la gracia para alcanzar misericordia,

y hallar gracia para el oportuno socorro”

Hebreos 4:16

Tener fe en alguien implica poder acercarnos confiadamente a él. Si nos acercamos a Dios confiadamente, él nos socorrerá. Muchas veces nos desesperamos exigiendo el socorro de Dios antes de necesitarlo realmente. Pero Dios ofrece siempre un socorro en el momento oportuno. Así pues, tener fe también implica ser pertinentes, saber pedir a Dios, saber cómo llegarnos confiadamente a su trono de gracia. Nos debe alentar la convicción de que nuestras necesidades personales no son las únicas. Nuestro prójimo (que es decir también nuestra comunidad, nuestro país, nuestro mundo, nuestros amigos, nuestros enemigos…) necesita de nuestras rogativas ante Dios para que él les ilumine plenamente.

Nos asiste una inmensa satisfacción cuando tenemos sensibilidad para pedir, no sólo por nuestras necesidades y la de los que nos son afines, sino por todos los que realmente necesitan del socorro de Dios. Nosotros podemos ser vehículos para la misericordia de Dios, su gracia, su socorro. Pongámonos en sus manos.

Oración: Oh Dios, dame tu socorro oportunamente, que seamos la vía para tu gracia y tu misericordia. Por Jesús. Amén.
