CHRISTMAS TREE!
PHILIPPIANS
4:4-7
“When Jesus spoke again to the people,
he said ‘I
am the light of the world.
Whoever
follows me will never walk in darkness,
but will
have the light of life.’”
John 8:12
Thirty years ago it was difficult to find a Cuban home with a Christmas
tree, and in a public space, it was unthinkable. Today there are Christmas trees all over our
city; lights and decorations everywhere…
While contemplating this I sat down by myself
inside the church sanctuary to admire the lights on the Christmas tree,
grateful because Jesus is truly the light of my life. He illumines my life and blesses me with his
loving company.
Looking at
the star atop the Christmas tree, I acknowledge and reaffirm that Jesus is the
true reason for Christmas. Jesus is the
star in my life.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for being with us, for caring and providing for us and
for guiding us each day. Thank you for
the gift of knowing you and of having you as part of our lives. Thank you, because just as your star led the
wise men to find you, you continue to light the way and guide us on your
pathways. Amen.

ÁRBOL DE LA NAVIDAD!
FILIPENSES 4:4-7
“Jesús se dirigió otra vez a la gente, diciendo:
Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me sigue,
tendrá la luz que le da vida,
y nunca andará en la oscuridad”.

Hace unos 30 años era difícil ver un arbolito de
Navidad en un hogar cubano, y en un
lugar público: impensable. Hoy los árboles de Navidad pululan en nuestra
ciudad, donde quiera hay arbolitos de Navidad, lucecitas, adornos...
Meditando
en esto me senté a solas en el Templo a admirar las luces del árbol de Navidad,
agradecida porque Jesús es verdaderamente la luz de mi vida. Él ilumina mi vida
y me bendice con su amorosa compañía.
Al
mirar la estrella en la parte de arriba del árbol navideño reconozco y afirmo
que Jesús es el verdadero motivo de la Navidad. Jesús es la estrella en mi
vida.
Oración:
Gracias Señor, por estar con nosotros, por cuidarnos, proveernos y por guiarnos
cada día. Gracias por el don de conocerte y de tenerte como parte de nuestras
vidas. Gracias, porque así como tu estrella condujo a los sabios hasta el
encuentro contigo, tú continuas alumbrando y guiándonos en tus caminos. Amén.
