THE EAGLE AND THE STORM

Isaiah 40:28-31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will fly up on wings of eagles; they will run and not be tired; they will walk and not be weary.

Isaiah 40:31 (CEB)

            Do you know that an eagle knows when a storm is coming long before it starts?

            The eagle flies to a high spot to wait for the winds that will come.  When the storm hits him, he places his wings so that the wind will catch them and carry him up above the storm. While the storm is battering the earth, the eagle flies above it.  The eagle does not escape the storm.  He simply uses it to lift himself higher

            When the storms of life come upon us, can we pass through them?  Can we lift ourselves above them, putting our minds on God and our faith in God?  The storms do not have to pass over us.  We can let the power of God lift us above the storms.  May God permit us to go with the wind of the storm that brings illness, tragedy, and other things into our lives.  We can fly above the storm.

            Remember, it is not the burdens of life that carry us down, but the way we manage them.

 

Prayer: Only you Lord can help us fly like the eagle over the storm.  Amen.

EL AGUILA Y LA TORMENTA

Isaias  40:28-31

Pero los que esperan en Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán sus alas como las águilas...

Isaías 40:31

            ¿Sabías que un águila sabe cuando una tormenta se acerca mucho antes de que empiece?

            El águila volará a un sitio alto para esperar los vientos que vendrán. Cuando pega la tormenta, coloca sus alas para que el viento las agarre y le lleve por encima de la tormenta. Mientras que la tormenta esté destrozando abajo, el águila vuela por encima de ella. El águila no se escapa de la tormenta. Simplemente la usa para levantarse más alto.

            Cuando las tormentas de la vida nos vienen, podemos pasar  por ello. Podemos levantarnos por encima poniendo nuestras mentes y nuestra fe en Dios. Las tormentas no tienen que pasar sobre nosotros. Podemos dejar que el poder de Dios nos levante por encima de ellas. Dios nos permite ir con el viento de la tormenta que trae enfermedad, tragedia y demás cosas a nuestras vidas. Podemos volar sobre la tormenta.

            Recuerda, no son los pesos de la vida los que nos llevan hacia abajo, sino el cómo los manejamos.

 

Oración: Sobre la tormenta, sólo tú Señor, nos puedes ayudar a volar como el águila. Amén.
