Anniversary of the UNMPRC

PERSONALITIES

LUKE 10:38-42

Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

Luke 12:23

What two very different personalities!  One was anxious about physically serving Jesus by bringing him all types of foods; the other was anxious to share spirituality with Him and to receive his wisdom. Martha wanted to serve Jesus her most delicious dishes.  Mary wanted to listen to his sweet voice full of wisdom and love.

Jesus says to Martha:  Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better...”

We have to balance our work in the devotion and worship of God; we cannot get carried away by the great worries in life and forget to communicate with God.

Let us avoid having Jesus one day call out our names among those who are “worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.”

Let us reflect upon this. 

Prayer: Beloved Father, place the desire to love you and to serve you in our hearts, wherever we are.  We want to always choose what is better and never to be distracted by material matters.  Thank you, Lord, for your care; forgive us our failings.  In your name we pray. Amen.

La vida es más que la comida,

y el cuerpo es más que el vestido.

¡Qué dos personalidades tan distintas!

Una preocupada por servir materialmente a Jesús brindándole todo tipo de alimentos; otra preocupada por compartir con Él la espiritualidad y recibir su sabiduría.

Martha quería servir a Jesús sus mejores manjares. María quería escuchar su dulce voz llena de sabiduría y amor.

Jesús dice a Marta: ”Marta, Marta turbada y afanada estás en muchas cosas, María tomó la mejor parte.”

 Tenemos que balancear nuestro trabajo en la dedicación y adoración a Dios, no podemos dejarnos llevar por las grandes preocupaciones de la vida y olvidarnos de la comunicación con Dios.

Evitemos que un día Jesús diga nuestros nombres con los apelativos de:  “turbados o afanadas, estás en muchas cosas, debes tomar tú también la mejor parte.”

 Pensemos en ello.

Oración: Padre amado,  pon en nuestros corazones el deseo de  amarte y servirte donde quiera que estemos, queremos siempre tomar la mejor parte y nunca desviarnos por las cuestiones materiales.  Gracias Señor, por tu cuidado, perdona nuestras faltas. En tu nombre oramos. Amen.
