ONLY GOD KNOWS

Mark 13:24-32

“Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices,

my body also rests secure,

 for you do not give me up to Sheol or let your faithful one see the pit.”

Psalm 16:9-10

Nothing is eternal in our world, everything is transitory. Jesus would have us be aware of that, but not so that we become alarmists. No one knows the date or how the end of this unjust world will be; but it’s certain it will arrive, the reflected light of the moon and the sun will extinguish and everything will be in darkness. But everything will revive again because the Son of God, Christ resuscitated, will fill all humanity with living and reviving light.

Perhaps it’s difficult to believe what this Gospel tells us, but Christ already knows it; therefore he continues to encourage us so that we don’t allow ourselves to be overcome by false illusions, so that we keep working in our present reality for a more just and supportive world, one more suffused with love and where we all feel as brothers.

Don’t let us be fooled by people who proclaim the end time, those who set a date and an hour for that moment. God alone knows it, and the only thing we should do as good Christians is to be prepared, vigilant, and to continue forging ahead and sharing our lives with others.  

Prayer:  I am going to live each of my days as though it were the last, carrying out my duties, showing love, and forgiving those who have injured me.

SOLO DIOS LO SABE

Marcos 13:24-32

“Todo mi ser siente una gran confianza,

porque no me abandonarás”

Salmo 16:9-10

En nuestro mundo nada es eterno, todo es perecedero, Jesús quiere que tengamos conciencia de ello, pero que no seamos alarmistas. Nadie sabe la fecha, ni cómo será el fin de este mundo injusto. Pero es seguro que llegará, para ello pone el símil de la luna y el sol, que se apagarán y todo quedará en la oscuridad, pero todo volverá a resurgir, porque el Hijo de Dios, Cristo resucitado, llenará de luz viva y resucitada a toda la humanidad.

Quizás nos cueste creer lo que en este evangelio se nos dice, pero Cristo ya lo sabía, y por ello, nos sigue animando para que no nos dejemos vencer por falsas ilusiones, para que sigamos trabajando como hasta ahora, por mundo más justo, más solidario, más lleno de amor y donde todos nos sintamos hermanos.

No nos dejemos engañar por personas que anuncian el final de los tiempos, que ponen fecha y hora a ese momento, eso sólo lo sabe Dios y lo único que debemos hacer nosotros como buenos cristianos y cristianas es estar preparados, estar vigilantes y seguir construyendo nuestra vida y compartiéndola con los demás.

Oración: Voy a vivir todos los días de mi existencia como si fuera el último, cumpliendo con mis deberes, repartiendo amor y perdonando a quienes me han lastimado.
