OUR DUTY: TO DO

Matthew 28:16-20

“Go and make disciples”

Matthew 28:19

Today we celebrate Christian Missionary Day, a date coinciding with the founding of “La Progresiva,” the Presbyterian school in Cárdenas.

We are certain that one of the bible verses that inspired those men and women to come to our country and to create that marvelous work was the one we have before us today: the command that our Lord Jesus gives us to make disciples of all nations.

There is no such thing as a pencil that rots without ever being used, or a candle that remains unlit when there is darkness all around us.  In the same way, man and woman were created for something special!  And everything that was made in this world was created for a purpose.  

As a tree is planted in order to bear much fruit, so it is our destiny to glorify God through our good and abundant works.

The time has come for doing and for never growing tired.

May your pencil be able to write the most beautiful words and may your candle light up the densest night,

because it is our duty to do.

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to not remain passive before the obligation to work for your Kingdom.  Thank you for those who were missionaries in your Name, and for all that they did for the growth of your work in our country.

Hoy se celebra el Día del Misionero Cristiano; fecha coincidente con la fundación del colegio presbiteriano “La Progresiva”, en Cárdenas.

Estamos seguros que uno de los versículos bíblicos que impulsó a esos hombres y mujeres a venir a nuestro país y crear esa maravillosa obra, fue este que nos ocupa hoy: la encomienda que nos da nuestro Señor Jesús de hacer discípulos a todas las naciones.

No tenemos un lápiz para que se pudra sin usarse nunca, y no tenemos una vela para no encenderla  cuando todo esta oscuro. ¡Así mismo el hombre y la mujer fueron creados para algo especial!, y todas las cosas que se han hecho en este mundo, se hicieron para algo.

Como se planta un árbol para que lleve mucho fruto, así el destino nuestro es glorificar a Dios por nuestras buenas y abundantes obras.

Este es tiempo de hacer y no cansarnos nunca.

Que tú lápiz pueda escribir las palabras más hermosas y tu vela pueda alumbrar la más densa noche, porque nuestro deber es h

Oración: Ayúdame Señor, a no permanecer pasivo ante la obligación de trabajar para tu Reino. Gracias por quienes antes misionaron en tu Nombre, y que tanto hicieron para el crecimiento de tu obra en nuestro país.
