USE YOUR GIFTS

1 Peter 4:10-11

“Do not neglect your gift”

1 Timothy 4:14

Peter tells us that as Christians we each have a gift, and this is why he calls us ministers and administrators.  Yes, you heard correctly! Everyone who possesses a gift has the responsibility to administer it for the benefit of the people.

The Church, therefore, needs for its members to develop their gifts; believers must be equipped with the basic tools for their mission.  And then they need to put them to the test, to use them in ministries that produce the fruits of integral growth within the Church and which allow the fruits to reach others who have not yet heard the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This ministry to equip the believers is not restricted to a limited group of leaders.  Rather, the entire Church should involve itself in this training, each person according to the “talent” he or she has received. It is a great mistake to say: “I do not have a gift”; and it is an even greater error to keep that talent buried.  

God is calling us to train ourselves.  Let us always remember that his purpose is to use us to do what will be advantageous to the entire body. Let us use our gifts, but let us never forget that the most excellent way is that of love.

 

Prayer: Holy Spirit, may I always put the gifts that you have given me to use for the growth of the Kingdom.

APROVECHA TUS DONES

1 Pedro 4:10-11

“No descuides el don que hay en ti”

1 Timoteo 4:14

Pedro nos dice que como cristianos todos tenemos algún don, y por esa razón nos llama ministros o administradores, ¡sí, como lo oyes!, porque todo el que posee algún don tiene la responsabilidad de ministrarlo para beneficio del pueblo.

La Iglesia, pues, necesita que sus miembros desarrollen sus dones, hay que equipar a los creyentes con las herramientas básicas para su misión y entonces ponerlas a prueba, ejercitarse en ministerios que rindan los frutos del crecimiento integral dentro de la Iglesia y logren los frutos de alcanzar a otros que aún no conocen la buena nueva del evangelio de Jesucristo.

Este ministerio de equipar a los creyentes no se reduce a un limitado grupo de líderes, sino que toda la Iglesia debe verse involucrada en este entrenamiento, cada cual según el "talento" recibido. Es un gran error decir: —“Yo no tengo ningún don”; y es mayor error aún quedarse con ese talento enterrado.

Dios nos está llamando a capacitarnos, recordemos siempre que su propósito es el de emplearnos en aquello que da provecho para todo el cuerpo. Procuremos nuestros dones, pero no olvidemos nunca que el camino más excelente es el del amor.

Oración: Espíritu Santo, que siempre ponga yo los dones que tú me has concedido en función del crecimiento del Reino.
