WORDS OF LOVE

LUKE 23:26-43

Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.

Luke 23:34 (CEB)

Jesus came to show the love of God, giving himself as a sacrifice for the offenses of every human being.

Who can understand the depth of the love of Jesus, who prayed while he was on the cross: Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing?

Jesus’ words clearly confirmed his love for humankind. His love was unconditional. He showed it with his actions and with his loving words as well.

He established his purpose clearly when he said: I am the door. He who enters through me will be saved…. The thief only comes to hurt and kill and destroy, I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it in abundance. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. Jesus practiced this sacrificial love in his life.

Throughout the Bible, we see God declaring his love with words of truth, comfort, and redemption. Such words of affirmation are the language of love that God speaks so fluently.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus, for the lavish expression of love that you gave through your words and actions. May your words be our words and your path our path. Amen.

Padre, perdónalos porque no saben lo que hacen

Jesús vino a mostrar el amor de Dios, entregándose en sacrificio por los delitos de cada ser humano.

¿Quién es capaz de entender la profundidad del amor de Jesús que, mientras estaba en la cruz, oró: Padre, perdónalos porque no saben lo que hacen

Las palabras de Jesús confirmaron claramente su amor por la humanidad. Su amor fue incondicional. Lo mostró con sus acciones y también con sus palabras de amor.

Él estableció su propósito claramente cuando dijo: Yo soy la puerta, el que por mí entrare, será salvo... El ladrón no viene sino para hurtar y matar y destruir, yo he venido para que tengan vida, y para que la tengan en abundancia. Yo soy el buen pastor, el buen pastor su vida da por las ovejas. Jesús practicó este amor sacrificial en su vida.

A lo largo de la Biblia, se ve a un Dios que declara su amor con palabras de verdad, de consuelo y de redención. Dichas palabras de afirmación son un lenguaje de amor que Dios habla con fluidez.

Oración: Gracias Jesús, por la pródiga expresión que diste a través de tus palabras y acciones. Permite que tus palabras sean nuestras palabras y tu camino nuestro camino. Amén.
