          IN PERIODS OF TESTING

        HEBREWS 13:3-6

Remember those who . . .are being tortured,

as though you yourselves were being tortured. (NRSV)

Hebrews 13:3

When we see brothers and sisters in Christ who are victorious in undergoing suffering and special difficulties, we often ask ourselves how they can do it. We are astounded that they don’t complain or show discouragement; we even can go so far as to say, “I hope if something like that ever happens to me, I can obtain the same victory.”

But we must stop there in hope; we can experience this same quality. The believer can undergo the difficulties of life in a triumphant manner if he learns to rest on the companionship of Christ.

Are you facing tests in your life? Don’t be afraid. Take courage. Launch yourself forward confident in the promise: I am with you always, even to the close of the age.

Even in moments of doubt, violent arguments, economic scarcity, wars and personal crises, if you have faith in Jesus as your Savior, you will have the assurance of his company.

Prayer: Help me, Jesus, to find your fingerprints at all times, especially in my times of testing. Amen.

        HEBREOS 13:3-6

..piensen en los que han sido maltratados,

ya que ustedes pueden pasar lo mismo

Hebreos 13:3

Cuando miramos a los hermanos y las hermanas en Cristo que están sufriendo victoriosamente dificultades singulares, a menudo nos preguntamos cómo pueden hacerlo. Nos asombramos de que no se quejen, ni muestren desaliento; incluso podemos llegar a decir: “Espero que, si alguna vez me sucede a mí algo parecido, podré obtener la misma victoria”.

Pero tenemos que detenernos ahí, en la esperanza; podemos experimentar esta misma cualidad. El creyente puede soportar las dificultades de la vida de una manera triunfante si aprende a apoyarse sobre el compañerismo de Cristo.

¿Estás tú afrontando pruebas en tu vida? No temas. Ten valor. Lánzate adelante confiado en la promesa: He aquí, yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo.

Aún en momentos de incertidumbre, discursos violentos, escasez económica, guerras y crisis personales, si has confiado en Jesús como tu Salvador, tienes la certidumbre de su compañía.

Oración: Jesús, ayúdame a encontrar tus huellas en todo momento, especialmente en mis horas de prueba. Amén.
