ETERNAL
INHERITANCE
Colossians1:1-15
...
so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance
Hebrews 9:15 (NRSV)
A few days ago I read the following
anecdote: At the death of a rich land owner, two men were talking about it:
“His sons are such egotists and ingrates that they are completely unworthy of
inheriting their father’s riches. They haven’t earned a penny of that money.”
The other replied,”But they are his heirs. Here merits aren’t counted. An
inheritance is given; it’s not a prize to be won.”
Such is the inheritance that we
receive from our Lord Jesus Christ. It is something that is conferred on us by
means of his grace. We are unworthy and as such we cannot offer anything that
would make us worthy of the blessings of our God. He allows us to inherit his
Kingdom by giving us salvation in Christ.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the
Colossians: He has rescued us from the
power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in
whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (1Col. 1: 13-14) We are heirs to an eternal treasure that we can now enjoy.
Prayer: Loving
Lord, we thank you for your mercies. Thank you that you do not look at our
iniquities, nor do you reward us according to them, but you love us and
undeservedly grant us the gift of salvation by which we are heirs to your
eternal Kingdom. Amen.

HERENCIA ETERNA
Colosenses1:1-15
...
